The residents of Piddington in Oxfordshire, probably as a protest against the last Tory government, decided to collectively put their crosses on their ballot papers next to the name of the Liberal Democrat candidate. They did so despite or maybe because of the Lib Dem’s pro-’refugee’ policies but now they are finding out just what ‘refugees welcome’ really means and they don’t like and quite frankly I don’t blame them for not liking it.

Piddington residents voted in their droves for a Lib Dem candidate, allegedly put up posters saying ‘refugees welcome’ and took part in virtue signalling along these lines. However, now that the reality of what voting Lib Dem and supporting the ‘refugees welcome’ nonsense really means is becoming apparent, they appear to be regretting their decisions to vote Lib Dem and to virtue signal about ‘refugees welcome’.

They got what they voted for and now they don’t like it.

It’s tempting to mock the people of Piddington for their idiocy in voting Lib Dem in what and their NIMBY attitudes of welcoming ‘refugees’ just not where they live. The constituent parts of the Bicester and Woodstock constituency in which Piddington is included was once a relatively safe Tory seat but fell to the Lib Dems in 2024.

I’m not going to mock the people of Piddington. In fact I’m going to sympathise with them as they’ve had the nasty experience of reality colliding with the empty and dangerous ideology of ‘refugees welcome’. They are finding out that what they are being landed with at a former military base is not the modern day analogue of the Kindertransport children who fled to Britain from the Nazis. They have found out that they are getting hundreds of third world men many of whom come from countries and cultures that are incompatible with our own. Their naivety has been mercilessly exploited not just by the Liberal Democrat party but by the Labour government. They are now just as much victims of Britain’s broken borders and politicians addicted to virtue signalling about ‘refugees’ as any of the many working class areas that are similarly victims of the ‘refugees welcome’ nonsense.

Reality has collided with bullshit and it has woken up the residents of Piddington. It has forced the sort of people who live in hitherto ‘nice’ places like Piddington to reckon with the fact that campaigning to welcome ‘refugees’ is an act of suicidal empathy. The Piddington disaster has and will rip the scales from people’s eyes and present them with the reality of what they’ve campaigned and consented to in the past and that reality is pretty nasty indeed. This reality is local women now being considerably more unsafe than they would have been if these third worlders had not been dumped on them, that their nice and civilised town centres will be dominated by bad men, with bad ideologies and bad attitudes and that the local residents will be pushed to the margins because of this.

I admire and respect the residents of Piddington for protesting the dumping of third world wrong’uns upon them. I admire them even though I doubt that their protest movement will be a success as it will be blocked at every turn both in the political sphere and in the courts.

Whilst it’s highly likely that the Piddington campaign will be fruitless and the wrong’uns will ultimately be dumped on the town despite the protestations of its residents I believe something good may come out of it all. That good will be the realisation by the residents of places like Piddington that they are no longer insulated from Britain’s border problems. They may realise that they are now in the same festering and dangerous boat as the many working class communities that have so far been the destination of choice for government imposition of imported wrong’uns. The people of Piddington have had the realisation that neither the ‘niceness’ of their town nor their higher incomes will save them from the rapey savages that are being imported in their thousands and that the government will not prevent this from happening. They thought that by voting for parties like the Lib Dems who said nice and bland things the monstrous storm of unwanted and incompatible immigration might pass them by and that they could get redress through the courts and via politics. The people of Piddington have been disabused of these fantasies. They will now be more willing to tell others who live in places similar to Piddington about their experiences and maybe, just maybe, might make common cause with those who live in less salubrious areas who have also suffered from Britain’s immigration and asylum disaster.

Political change doesn’t always come from one class. We have examples of this from the revolutions of 1848. The revolutionaries who took part in the upheavals of 1848 were not only from the ranks of the poor and the downtrodden but also from the middle classes who wanted their desires and their interests in things such as democratic accountability, a free press and freedom of speech to be enacted.

We may, in places like Piddington and similar areas, be seeing the beginnings of a cross class and cross background revolt against migration and the government’s handling of these issues. If this does come about then this is going to be a very potent weapon against the naive and sometimes malevolent open borders obsessives.
