Why are Tell Mama still featuring the Hamas linked CAIR organisation on their website?

If you visit the site of the Tell Mama organisation, you know the ones who were caught acting in a duplicitous manner by the Telegraph’s Andrew Gilligan about the number of alleged attacks on Muslims, apart from seeing a load of dubious whining about how unfair it is that Islam is hated, you will also see a ‘PR news feed’.

This is a lift from the Tell Mama PR newsfeed

Now many websites have a PR news feed, along with other social networking add-ons, that is not the unusual thing. What is unusual is the group that they feature prominently on this PR feed. The group that they feature slap bang in the middle of their home page is the feed from the Council of American Islamic Relations or CAIR.

Now CAIR are not a bunch of fluffy Ahmadis or Ismaili Muslims, this lot are hard-core Hamas supporters according to various sources.

In 2007 the organization was named, along with 245 others, by U.S. Federal prosecutors in a list of unindicted co-conspirators and/or joint venturers in a Hamas funding case involving the Holy Land Foundation, which in 2009 caused the FBI to cease working with CAIR outside of criminal investigations due to its designation

Also, in the wake of the Islamic murder of Drummer Lee Rigby, activists from CAIR visited the United Kingdom to pimp the concept of Muslims claiming ‘victim-hood’. It was partially due to the influence of CAIR that we in Britain saw the disgusting spectacle of Fiyaz Mughal and his Tell Mama organisation trying to divert attention away from the murder of Drummer Rigby and onto what they called a massive rise in anti Islamic attacks. As Andrew Gilligan showed, this massive rise in attacks turned out to be nothing more than a few people, many not even in the UK, saying unpleasant things about Islam on the internet.

CAIR have been alleged to have been connected to the Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee along with other individuals and organisations, according to a Texas court document.

CAIR also have a nasty record for bullying those who speak out against Islam sometimes by using the legal system to attempt to silence opponents.

Whichever way you look at it CAIR are a deeply unpleasant organisation with questionable connections. Why then is a supposedly respectable organisation like Tell Mama continuing to feature this bunch of Hamas supporting (CAIR have never publicly condemned Hamas outright) extremists? Is it because they agree with either the aims of CAIR or the murderous groups like Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood whom CAIR are associated with?

If Tell Mama is serious about being taken seriously and serious about being seen as part of a modern reformed Islam suitable for the 21st Century (if such a thing is indeed possible) then why do they continue to publicise CAIR so prominently on their website?

Sometimes you have to judge organisations and individuals by the company they keep. Promoting CAIR is an indication that the sort of company Tell Mama prefer, are the sort that the world could well do without. Promoting a group with associations and sympathies for Hamas would be for many people beyond the pale, the fact that Tell Mama do not take that view tells us a lot about Tell Mama.

  1. Such hypocrisy, but it isn’t just CAIR they support, but many other people and groups who are either on a par with CAIR or worse that they tend to support or converse with, yet they hysterically ridicule people about who they choose to converse with or tag into conversations. Any decent minded person can see through their smoke and mirrors. The police force and government should be closing down ties with this shoddy group not embracing it. Time people made their voices heard.

Keep up the good work Fahrenheit.
