Friday Night Movie Number 6 – The Heroes of Telemark

I love this film and watch it every couple of years or so.  It’s a film with heroes and villains, patriots and traitors and is set during the Nazi Occupation of Norway.

The IMDB site said of the film:

“Set in German-occupied Norway, this is an embellished account of the remarkable efforts of the Norwegian resistance to sabotage the German development of the atomic bomb. Resistance fighter Knut Straud enlists the reluctant physicist Rolf Pedersen in an effort to destroy the German heavy water production plant near the village of Rjukan in rural Telemark.”

A gripping film from beginning to end.

Memories of BBC on an otherwise boring Saturday or Sunday afternoon! 🙂
