The EU ‘Med Migrants’ plan is doomed to failure.

If the EU stops giving asylum then the boats may stop.

Much was made by the mainstream media about the outcome of the emergency meeting held to discuss how to manage the problems caused by boatloads of illegal migrants who are crossing the Med. There were a lot of fine words and promises made about the interdiction of the boats but these words and assurances are doomed to failure because the EU have still left the subject of asylum on the table. As long as there is a chance, even a slim chance, that some of these illegal migrants will be allowed to claim asylum then the boats will not stop. The lure of welfare, free housing, useful idiots to run round catering for the migrants every need and the opportunity to make money in the black economy is so strong, that even if there is only a tiny chance of being given asylum and getting on the welfare gravy train in the EU and in Britain, then these will still be major pull factors in driving the human trafficking trade. To stop the trafficking and the misery it brings Europe needs to stop offering asylum to those enter via an irregular route.

The EU has said that Europe should take 5000 migrants but that is still too many. It still leaves a chink in the EU’s armour and still encourages migrants to make the trip across the Med. The only way to make an impact on the hordes of ponces, criminals and chancers lurking on the North African coast waiting for their chance to the taxpayer funded nirvana of the European welfare system is to completely ban those who cross the Med in small boats from claiming asylum in Europe. If those waiting to cross knew that there would be zero chance of being allowed to stay in Europe then that would a major weapon against the people traffickers.

The leaders of European nations should, rather than trying to be nice or looking over their shoulders at bits of international law that have often outlived their usefulness, have listened to the Australians. They tried the selective asylum route and the result not only was not good for the average Australian as the country ended up being landed with all sorts of criminals, dole spongers and jihadists but also for the hundreds of migrants who drowned at sea making the attempt on Australia. Selective asylum also didn’t do much to stop people trafficking because, as I said earlier, migrants still saw a small chance of slipping through the asylum net and that made it worthwhile to try. It was only when Australia used the leverage of its foreign aid budget to put pressure on to the countries where the migrants were coming from, and instituted a policy where nobody who arrived illegally would be given asylum that the situation changed. The new Australian policy has been beneficial to Australians as there are now less criminally inclined migrants pitching up in their towns. It has also prevented the drowning of migrants because everyone now knows that there is no point in attempting the trip because the migrant will just be interned offshore and then returned to whence they came.

This is the sort of action that we in Europe should have expected of our leaders along with military action to protect Europe’s borders and European citizens from these migrants. Unfortunately, by not taking asylum off the table and by having half-hearted, legally handcuffed, naval actions against traffickers the leaders of Europe have achieved absolutely nothing. The situation regarding Med Migrants will still continue as before, migrants will continue to drown and residents of European cities and towns will continue to be the victims of the property crime, sex crime and anti-social behaviour that these migrants bring to these places.

The only way that Europe can be protected from these migrants and deaths by drowning be minimised is for a full scale military interdiction of the Med. Migrant boats in progress from South to North whether they are full of migrants or not should either be sunk with gunfire or escorted back to North Africa where they will be given a short amount of time to unload their cargo before the boats are destroyed. There is also a need for intensive and comprehensive surveillance of the coasts of the Med, not just the coasts of North Africa but also the coasts of the Levantine nations, such as Lebanon and Turkey. The migrant problem in the Med is not just a humanitarian problem it is a security problem for Europe. Among these migrants appear to be a significant number of individuals who are at best never going to make any contribution to European society and at worse are intent on doing harm. It should never be overlooked that there are an awful lot of potentially troublesome Mohammedians on these boats and many would agree that the last thing that Europe needs at this time is more angry, violent, seditious Muslim ponces to further compound the misery of those Europeans who have the misfortune of having to live in a newly minted Muslim ghetto.

We in Europe not only need, but deserve, a proper response to this threat, not a policy like this that has more chance of failing and therefore continuing the problem than it does of succeeding and putting an end to the problem.

Maybe it is time for European governments to put the lives of their own citizens first and take proper steps to shut down the Med migrant route, it would have the bonus of saving the lives of would-be migrants as well..

You see, there’s one big drawback to this plan; it’s common sense. We know no politician will have anything to do with it!
