I was completely unaware of the existence of this excellent and sell scripted movie until I was alerted to it by my friend Kel of Red Fox Radio. She suggested that it would make a good Friday Night Movie feature and she was dead right about that. Phone Call From a Stranger is indeed an excellent drama.

As with some other Friday Night Movie offerings, it’s difficult to give a proper precis of the film wihtout giving too much away about the plot, which does have some interesting twists and turns. But, to give an outline, it concerns the central character, David Trask played by Gary Merrill, who leaves his wife after his wife has an affair and goes off out of town. However whilst taking the plane trip from Chicago to Los Angeles David Trask gets to know three other passengers on the plane and finds out some of their secrets when they are forced to land at an intermediary airfield due to bad weather.

What happens to the David Trask, the passengers and in particular Trask’s new found friends leads Trask into the lives of other people connected to his friends that he would not have expected to encounter when he first got on the plane.

A brilliant drama with a well put together central cast and a film that I really enjoyed watching and I hope you enjoy watching it too.
