From Elsewhere – Dearborn, Michigan an abode of extremists and a swamp that urgently needs draining

I want to draw people’s attention to two articles, one from the immedate past and one from a past that is slightly more distant. Less than twenty years separates these two articles but they show that the problem of Islamic extremism in Dearborn, Michigan in the United States, is not getting any better. In fact they may be getting worse.

The first article, which was written in October 2001, just a month after Islamic attacks on the United States on 911, and concerns the problem of Islamic extremism that plagued the Detroit / Dearborn areas of Michigan at the time. I suspect that this article that was put out by Newsweek/NBC may have been the first time that Americans were made aware of just how bad the problems of Islamic extremsim were in this area.

The second article was written on June the sixth 2019 and is about an Al Quds Day march through Dearborn that was held in May of this year. The article from Memri, details how speakers called Israel a ‘cancer’ and that open support was given to the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah.

As I said earlier, less than twenty years separate the writing of these two articles that concern the same area of the United States. It’s plain to see that the Dearborn and Detroit area became a hotbed of Islamic extremism well before the tragic Islamic attacks of 911. It looks to me like an absolute scandal that this issue has not been tackled by the authorities and that dangerous levels of Islamic extremism still exist in this area.

I hope that if President Donald Trump is reelected next year then as well as his other duties he should also pay attention to the need to drain the Islamist swamp that has been allowed to fester and grow in places like Dearborn. It’s plain to see that unless the issue of Islamic extremism in the USA is not tackled, then it will become an even greater problem than it is at present.
