From Elsewhere: Pretend saviours

During the current Chinese Covid19 crisis, lots of people from many different ethnic and religious groups have stepped up to the plate with various social programmes. Some of these programmes are merely to keep co-religionists in touch with each other in difficult circumstances whilst others have much wider positive community impact.

Unfortunately some of these groups and some of these assistance projects are merely public relations exercises and cynical ones at that, by some pretty nasty people, including those who have convictions for involvement with Islamic terrorist groups. One such nasty little Islamic terrorist type has been uncovered by the writer and former US Republican congress nominee, Joe Kaufman and Beila Rabinowitz, the Director of the Militant Islam Monitor group.

Writing in Front Page Magazine they describe how the mainstream media in Florida has been waxing lyrical over the food parcel scheme being run by the Islamic Centre of Tampa (ICT) and their leader a man named Hatem Fariz. This group and Hatem Fariz himself are being painted as some sort of saviour of Floridians in difficult times. However the truth about Fariz, which mainstream media reports seem to have forgotten to mention, is that Fariz is a man who has been convicted of helping the Islamic terror group, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).

The Frontpage Mag writers said:

Hatem Naji Fariz is the Managing Director of ICT. He is, as well, in charge of the ICT food distribution project, and he has been interviewed for all of the news pieces concerning it.

In July 2006, Fariz pled guilty in federal court to providing services to associates of PIJ and received a 37-month prison sentence. According to the indictment against him, al-Arian and six others, Fariz “was a PIJ member” and did “conspire… to commit offenses against the United States… by making and receiving contributions of funds, goods, and services to or for the benefit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.”

The indictment further stated that Fariz and al-Arian were part of a PIJ enterprise and that “the enterprise members would and did commit acts of violence, intimidation, and threats against Israel, its inhabitants and others, including murders and suicide bombings, and solicit and cause others to do so, with the intent to drive Israel out of the territory from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea and to end any influence of the United States in the Middle East.”

What a complete scumbag Fariz truly is. He’s a nasty little jihadist hate filled agitator and a man who is cynically using the current Covid19 crisis as a propaganda opportunity. Commendations are required here for the Frontpage Magazine writers who’ve uncovered and publicised this man’s background and record. Sadly condemnations are in order to those in the mainstream media who have fallen for the guff put out by this pretend saviour called Hatem Fariz and who have published little more than puff pieces about him.
