Imagine a country where you can be sentenced to death for the contents or alleged contents of a text. No this is not some hopefully fictional future dystopian Britain where the ‘Jokestapo’ go around from house to house persecuting all the politically incorrect jokers, it is a real and present case from Pakistan.

According to a report being carried by Reuters (h/t Tommy Robinson on Parler ) a Christian man has been sentenced to death for an alleged comment on a text that was seen as none too complimentary to Mohammed, the man Muslims claim as a ‘prophet’ but who most of us would give a wide berth to.

Reuters said:

A Pakistani court on Tuesday sentenced a Christian man to death on blasphemy charges.

Asif Pervaiz, a garment factory worker, had been accused by his supervisor of sending derogatory remarks about the Muslim Prophet Muhammad to him in a text message.

Insulting the prophet carries a mandatory death penalty in Pakistan, a predominantly Muslim country.

Pervais was convicted after a trial in Lahore that ran since 2013. His lawyer Saif-ul-Malook told Reuters he would appeal the sentence.

The court order, seen by Reuters, said Pervaiz would first serve a three-year prison term for “misusing” his phone to send the derogatory text message. Then “he shall be hanged by his neck till his death.”

There’s also a 50,000 Pakistani rupee fine on top of the prison and hanging as well. The savages that run the shithole that is Pakistan do not it seems do things by halves.

It would be nice to think that this case is some sort of aberration in Pakistan but sadly it is not. Every year Christians along with Hindus and Sikhs find themselves on the wrong end of a ‘blasphemy’ charge.

In Pakistan the accusation of ‘blasphemy’ is used in a similar way to how accusations of witchcraft were used in Europe when anti witchcraft laws were on the books hundreds of years ago. The fact that a person can be executed for ‘blasphemy’ in Pakistan when the execution of people for witchcraft is a long dead practise, should give readers some idea as to just how backward and retarded Pakistan’s society truly is.

When Britain quit the Indian subcontinent in 1947 and Pakistan became an independent nation, we left behind a relatively functional society and government. It wasn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it functioned relatively well. Sadly for Pakistan and or Pakistanis the years have not been kind. The increasing influence on government and on the legal system of some of the worst forms of Islam on the planet, has turned Pakistan into a basket case of a nation. Pakistan is a cess pit of superstition, ignorance, violence, misogyny, child abuse and hatred. It didn’t have to be that way but this is the way that Islam has warped Pakistani society.

Until Islam is put back in its box in Pakistan (and preferably buried six feet under with a stake through its heart) then no matter how much I would like to see a free, safe and democratic Pakistan, it will continue to be a shithole containing of the most awful depravity in the modern world.
