More Coronabollocks from the pseudo-Tories

The Conservatives in name only have come up with yet more pointless ‘Coronabollocks’ to punish this already suffering nation with. As from Monday gatherings of more than six people, whether in parks, homes or pubs will be banned and this applies whether this gathering is indoors or outdoor.

The reasoning for these draconian restrictions on Briton’s liberty, at a time when the country should be getting back to work and returning to some sort of normality is an infection rate of 20 per 100,000. Boris Johnson, a man we trusted to administer the economy of the country with some degree of common sense, has decided to further destroy Britain’s economy along with the physical and mental health of millions of British subjects.

This is an utterly pointless designed, in my view, like the mask rules, to make it look as if the government is doing something in the face of media pressure to ‘do something’.

Infection rates are meaningless in the case of Covid, what matters is death rates and hospitalisation rates and they appear to be going down markedly. For Covid the death rate is approx 3% among those vulnerable to serious infection in the United States (UK figures are no longer in my view reliable) and probably lower when we consider populations as a whole in Western nations. Even if infection rates were meaningful as they would be for diseases with a significant death rate like they are for Bubonic Plague (45% on average without treatment), Smallpox (30%) or Zaire Ebolavirus (79%), a figure of 20 per 100k is pretty small. Now one in five which is 20 per 100 would be a significant figure, that represents a risk for any contractable disease that maybe should be worried about, especially with diseases that are far more easy to contract than Covid, but not 20 per 100k, for a disease that many people contract and recover from relatively easily. It’s a relatively miniscule figure. Even 20 per 1000 would be for most people a relatively acceptable risk.

To put the 20 per 100k in some sort of perspective, in 2004 Britons had a death rate from all road accidents of 5.94 per 100k or an approximate annual chance of being killed in a road accident of 1 in 1600. This figure does not include injuries, some possibly life changing that can occur in road accidents. There is probably a similar or greater chance of a Briton being injured or killed in a road traffic accident as there is of them being infected by Covid. Despite these RTA figures, which road safety groups say are higher than they should be, governments do not shut down the road system in order to ‘save lives’ or ‘protect the NHS’, for to do so would be utter and complete madness, yet this is the equivalent of what the government is doing with its latest assault on Britain’s economy and Briton’s liberties.

If we were talking about Tuberculosis a disease that took the lives of 1.2 million people worldwide in 2018 then preventative measures to slow the spread of disease could in some cases be justified. However even in those areas of the UK where Tuberculosis is a known issue, this sort of panicky ‘shut it down’ mentality does not occur, people just get on with their lives. What I find interesting is that in 2018 the Tuberculosis figures for Newham in East London, an area heavily ‘enriched’ by people from impoverished and backward Islamic countries are double that of the UK’s coronavirus infection rate at 40 per 100k. Has Newham been shut down because of TB, a disease that hits the population there far harder than Covid hits the UK population in general? Of course it has not been shut down. TB is monitored there quite aggressively and rightly so with treatment given where appropriate. I used to have regular cause to go into Newham with my child and because of that I asked my doctor if my son could be vaccinated against TB because of the high TB rates there. I was told that the risk was so low that vaccination was not recommended. He wasn’t going to be visiting people with TB and all the people he was likely to come into contact with had been previously vaccinated against TB when Britain actually bothered to do such a thing. If it is considered relatively safe for a one year old to visit an area with high TB rates without vaccination against a killer disease, then why cannot we just ignore the overblown 20 per 100k Covid infection rate, a disease with a remarkably low death rate among healthy people and get the country moving again?

Boris Johnson’s government has shafted Britons yet again. Businesses that were only just reopening after the, in my view ill advised, lockdown are going to be hammered yet again. This action by the government is only going to lengthen the dole queues, cause already suffering businesses to go to the wall and increase the physical and mental health problems that the lockdown and enforced poverty has brought to Britain. Britain already faces a mental health and cancer nightmare due to the already crappy NHS being unable to carry out routine procedures like cancer screening and a mental health system that is already creaking and some cases worse than useless, is going to be overwhelmed by mental illness and attempted suicides by those afflicted by the Government’s piss poor decision making.

It is right and proper in my view that those who are likely to be vulnerable to a disease whether it be Covid or anything else, should be sheltered and sick people should be quarantined. But the latest idiocy from the pseudo-Tories are nothing like these reasonable actions, they are a tyranny, they treat the sick and the well the vulnerable and the less vulnerable as being one and the same.

It will be interesting to see how the Government’s latest Coronabollocks will be policed, but I suspect that it will be more of the same biased policing as we’ve seen so far. It’s not known at this stage whether these draconian restrictions will apply to things like Black Lives Matter gatherings or similar, but I suspect that they will not. The borders of course are still wide open and cross Channel invaders, whether they be carrying disease of the body such as Covid, TB or plague or disease of the mind such as Jihad, will continue to be let in and placed in luxury accommodation in often unsuspecting towns and villages across the UK.

What a shower of shit this all is and what a shower of shit we are governed by. It makes me wonder whether tin foil hat nutters like Piers Corbyn might have a valid point. However out there Corbyn is the question I’m finding myself asking is this: The tin foil hatters might be mad but are they any madder than our government which is destroying Britain’s economy, impoverishing its population and storing up a whole host of medical and mental problems for the future?
