On Sky News

When Sky News UK first started up, or rather when I first started to have access to it, it was like a breath of fresh air in broadcasting. It provided an alternative to the BBC and their viewpoint and for a while I broadly supported it.

Now my view of Sky News has changed a lot. Mostly it was because of their coverage of Brexit, which although not as bad as that of the BBC, still had a noticeable degree of anti-Brexit bias.

However, in the current situation Sky News has declined even further than it has already. I used to use Sky to see what the headlines were to give me a basic morning overview of what the MSM at least was saying. Now they are no good even for that. All they are and all I use them for now is to read the condensed contents of the latest Government press release. There is very little actual journalism going on at Sky News now from what I can see, only the regurgitation of Government statements, along with the thoughtless repetition of the claims of Left wing activists and NGO’s, with no attempt by Sky’s reporters to critically examine what any of these entities are saying or claiming.

Sky News UK has failed to live up to its earlier promise as an alternative to the BBC. It is now little more than BBC-lite with all the negative implications of what that means.

Try to listen to Sky News Australia. They provide much better news coverage than their UK namesake.

  2. Sky News UK is no different to BBC, C4, ITV, C5 now – the all push the same left liberal establishment view: anti-brexit, anti-tory, anti-Trump; pro-woke, pro-blm, pro-lockdown, pro-fear
