I’m not going to comment much on the link below from the Conservative Woman on the subject of Boris Johnson except to say that sadly much of the criticisms of Johnson in it are correct. As someone who voted for Johnson mostly because of Brexit but partially to stop Jeremy Corbyn goose-stepping his way across the nation, I have become extremely disillusioned with Johnson who has turned out to be nothing more than a wet, liberal, globalist and a disgraceful authoritarian and not the leader that we needed at this time. This article is brilliant and deserves to be more widely shared. Some of the BTL comments are also pretty fruity and entertaining as well.

    Excellent article, and very true. I’ve never been a fan of Johnson. You only have to look at his personal life to know that he couldn’t be trusted. He’s a serial adulterer, which means having to lie. Why would he bother telling the truth in public office? I voted for an independent candidate last December, but up until about April, I actually felt a little guilty about not voting Conservative. Now, I would be ashamed to admit that I voted Conservative. I will certainly never Conservative in the future, they are, without doubt, a busted flush. I won’t be voting Labour either. It’s a sign of how low British politics has sunk that even with the Tories as bad as they are, Labour are even worse.

    A High Court judge refused permission for the FSU’s judicial review last week and the FSU has decided not to appeal the decision because Ofcom has conceded most of the points it was making

    The Free Speech Union’s barrister had an opportunity to put our case to a High Court judge on December 9th, but our application to judicially review Ofcom’s ‘coronavirus guidance’ was denied.

    We have decided not to appeal because Ofcom has conceded most of the points we were seeking to make. Since we brought this case, the regulator hasn’t censured any more broadcasters for challenging the official Covid narrative, and at the High Court hearing Ofcom’s barrister assured the judge that it would no longer penalise its licensees for broadcasting material that undermined public confidence in the advice being disseminated by the UK Government or the public health authorities in connection with Covid-19 apart from in truly exceptional circumstances, such as if a broadcaster advised viewers to drink bleach to protect themselves from infection.

    While the judge denied us permission to proceed, he praised the Free Speech Union for bringing the case. “The claimants are quite right to emphasise the importance of freedom of expression,” he said.

    The Free Speech Union will be liable for the other side’s costs, but we don’t expect them to be much above £10,000, which mean we will have plenty of money left in this fundraiser to spend on other cases. We will post another update soon letting you know about the next case we decide to fight.

However, over the course of the year, it has become even more imperilled.
