Good luck to England’s football team who are facing Italy in the European cup final tonight. I’d like to see England win but I am not overconfident as Italy are one of the best national teams in the world.

However to get to the final itself is an achievement, especially as this is a competition that involves some of the greatest footballing nations on the planet. Win or lose I will be watching the match tonight even though I’m not a fanatic football fan because a match between an Italian team that is one of the world’s best and England will be interesting in itself.

For the first time I’ll be watching a big football match with my son and I will be thinking back to how I watched the 1970 world cup with my father and wishing he was still with us and watching with his grandson.
