Breaking: Christian woman stabbed at Speaker’s Corner

This story is very much in its early stages so is subject to change as time goes on and more details are revealed.

This is what we know so far: A Christian lady who regularly speaks at London’s Speaker’s Corner has been stabbed. We don’t know who by but what we do know that she was taken to hospital where she is being treated for minor injuries.

Ms Tash is well known for engaging in debate with the Islamic fundamentalists who gather at Speaker’s Corner and there is some speculation that this stabbing could have been carried out by an Islamic fundamentalist but this has not at this point been confirmed. However it needs to be said that Ms Tash is a regular at Speaker’s Corner and has a reputation for challenging the ideology of Islam.

Here’s a video allegedly taken at the scene today.

There’s a thread on Twitter about this here.

The Met Police have made a statement about the stabbing and set out the facts as they see it but have not given any information about the attack other than to say that a woman was subjected to a knife attack and sustained minor injuries.

As I said earlier, this is an ongoing story and more information is bound to come out later especially about the alleged assailant.

UPDATE:  The well known ex-Muslim commentator Apostate Prophet is claiming that this stabbing was carried out by a Muslim terrorist and added that people should not be inflaming things by claiming that such and such a person is an ‘enemy of Islam’.

  1. So much for religion being full of tolerance, love, peace and respect.

The tragedy is that it basically boils down to whose collection of infantile fairy tales is the right one when in reality non of them are. Arguments that are about things that are grounded in reality at least have the potential to be resolved. In matters of religion there is a choice between violence and agreeing to peacefully disagree.

I’d much prefer people to peacefully disagree, the problem is there are a lot of people out there who do not believe in peaceful disagreement or tolerance. This attacker might not be Muslim, it might be an extremist atheist but it’s unlikely.

I would add that if you have to stab people to make your case that is an open admission that you don’t have a case. The periodic table didn’t require violence to spread all over the world. The reason being that it represents a universal truth about the nature of reality.

Spot on there. It’s like when the trans cult extremists dished out bomb threat to JK Rowling. That was the point when the extreme trans cultists lost the argument.

Peacefully agreeing to disagree is obviously better but is slightly ridiculous. There is a panel show on Radio 4 called Beyond Belief where representatives of various faiths sit around a table and discuss various aspects of life from their differing perspectives. I used to listen to it in the car on the way home from work and found it to be laugh out loud funny. Maybe that’s just me though.
