Am I surprised? Sadly not.

A Muslim woman who worked on one of the programmes to help out those displaced by the Grenfell Tower tragedy has been charged with making false claims that the fire at the tower block in West London had been started by Jews as part of what she called ‘a Jewish sacrifice’. Tahra Achmed aged 51 had run workshops for those affected by the Grenfell tragedy which was caused when combustible cladding surrounding the tower block caught fire.

According to the Daily Mail, Achmed , put out Facebook posts in January 2018 stating that the ‘Jews’ started the fire, that Jewish businesses wanted the land that Grenfell stood on and the usual Islamic Jew hater wibble about how the Jews not Muslims did 9/11. Achmed has been bailed to appear at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey) for trial next year.

Whilst I cannot go into any detail about this particular case on the grounds that it is sub judice, this case does represent something that we are seeing more of. That something is Islamic Jew hatred a problem which the media and the political Establishment don’t want to talk about as much as they want to talk about the relatively tiny number of white nationalist jackboot lickers who hate Jews.

Of course, not every Muslim holds the sort of views about Jews that would make a Nazi blush, there are many who don’t buy into the religiously inspired Jew hatred that is found within Islamic scripture and some parts of Islamic culture. However we should not lie to ourselves or to others and claim that Islamic Jew hatred doesn’t exist. It does and appears to be growing in both vehemence and frequency over time.

Because it is a much wider problem than just one or two individuals in the Muslim community who hate Jews, I’m really not certain what good will come of bringing prosecutions like this? After all for every Islamic Jew hater convicted there are probably many others willing and ready to take their place. If the answer, as I believe it is, to bad speech is more speech then rather than employing laws regarding ‘hate speech’ to tackle Islamic Jew hatred why not have Muslims who are fully aware of Islam’s Jew hatred but reject it, talking directly to those Muslims who put out guff like ‘the Jews did 9/11’. It might do a whole lot more good in the long run than an expensive and long drawn out court case at Britain’s premier criminal court.

I believe in freedom of speech and that includes those who I vehemently disagree with such as those morons who spout medievalist bollocks about Jews, but that does not mean that I believe that such people should go unchallenged. There might be more to be gained by showing up arseholes for being arseholes than using the law against them. Arguing with such arseholes might, if you are really lucky and they are not dyed in the wool ideologues, cause them to change their minds, but what is more likely to happen is that you can change the minds of those who might be tempted to follow the arseholes down the same path as they’ve gone on. This is why, on the more free speech oriented parts of the net I take the piss out of neo-Nazis or challenge anti-vaccination types. I’m not always aiming my barbs directly at the individual neo-Nazi or anti vax lunatic, but to those on the periphery who might be tempted to follow them out of ignorance of the subject at hand.

There is a place for the law when it comes to speech but it should be strictly limited. It should be limited to those cases where incitement to violence or destruction is obvious, credible and immediate. Every other type of speech, including that of lunatics, should be allowed and equally importantly allowed to be challenged by those who are less lunatic.

Finally and to go back to the original subject of this piece: Am I surprised that a Muslim woman has been sent for trial for pushing out Jew hating bollocks? Sadly I am not. Even though there are a numerical majority of Muslims (63% according to one source) who are worried about Islamic extremism, that still leaves an awful lot of individuals who might be rather too comfortable with views on Jews that are little different from the medieval views that claimed that Jews poisoned wells. It’s imperative that the majority of Muslims who claim to be worried about Islamic extremism and who also might not go along with Islamic Jew hatred, to tackle via debate the Muslims who are still clinging to anti Jewish philosophy.

I don’t think anyone will be surprised by this.

I note that police have managed to track down a ‘mysterious stranger’ who allegedly raped a woman after an elaborate ruse to get her to stop in a layby, yet have been unable to trace a Muslim roaming London assaulting Jewish-looking people at will for whom they have video evidence…

Not at all surprised here either. Yes it’s really interesting to compare the two cases you mentioned isn’t it? The alleged layby rape might well have had forensic evidence that led to a suspect, but apart from that the evidence that the police had to go on was pretty thin. However the Met still haven’t caught the violent Muslim involved in the Stamford Hill attacks despite him being quite readily identifiable and probably well known to someone. I wonder if the Met are visiting the local mosques to ask questions about this attacker in order to try and find him or do the Met only visit mosques in order to kiss arse?

There was another attack on a Jewish person in Stamford Hill that occurred earlier this year when a heavily pregnant Jewish woman was stalked and had a bag trust over her head. In that case there was CCTV but it was nothing like as good a quality as what we’ve seen from the more recent incident. In that case the alleged assailant is readily identifiable as a White man and the police managed to arrest him after about a week. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-56494519 Contrast that earlier case with this most recent one and more time has elapsed since the attack but the Met are no closer to finding the assailant. I wonder why? Could it be because the Muslim attacker is being sheltered in London’s Muslim community or is it because an overly politicised Met are less than willing to put the effort into finding a Muslim attacker than a non Muslim one because going into the Muslim community with the necessary show of force needed to get people to talk about this attacker is politically unacceptable to the Met? In my view the first scenario is likely to be more likely but the Met have not helped themselves by either their Islamopandering nor their by now very overt politicisation.

I find it odd how the police can find and the CPS can prosecute low hanging fruit like the person in this ATL story but can’t seem to bring themselves to charge those allegedly involved in the disgraceful incident earlier this year when a group of Muslims called for Jewish women to be raped.
