Four men who have names that suggest that they may be Muslim have pleaded guilty to arson at a Jewish run ambulance service in March of this year.

Sky News said:

“Four men have admitted setting fire to four ambulances owned by a Jewish charity in an arson attack that caused around £1m in damage. 

Hamza Iqbal, 20, Rehan Khan, 19, Judex Atshatshi, 18, and Saif Ali – who can be named after turning 18 in June – pleaded guilty to a charge of destroying or damaging property by arson at the Old Bailey.

Ali is said to have sourced the blue Toyota Avensis they used to travel from east London to Golders Green, in north London.”

These very Islamic sounding names are what many of us expected the arsonists in the Golders Green case to possess. This is because it is more likely these days for attackers motivated by Jew hatred to have a background in Islam rather than as it once was Mosleyite fascism or similar.

Sky News added:

Iqbal and Khan, from Leyton, east London, Atshatshi, from Dagenham, east London, and Ali, of dual British-Pakistani nationality, from Walthamstow, were remanded into custody.

The areas that these arsonists hail from is also not a surprise. Leyton, which sits within the London Borough of Waltham Forest and Dagenham in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham are noted by many as being hotbeds of Islamic extremism. I’m really only surprised that none of the defendants came from neighbouring Newham which is also a place where Islamic extremism seems to find a home.

We’ll have to wait until next Spring to find out how long a term in gaol they will serve, if any. This is going to be a case to watch out for as if they are imprisoned for a considerable length of time then that raises the possibly that other volatile Islamic extremists in London or elsewhere might take to the streets and kick off over it.

Sentencing in this case will likely be interesting for all sorts of reasons.
