The one decision Sir Keir Starmer and friends seems to have got correct. Keeping Corbyn out.

The Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer and his supporters on the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party don’t exactly inspire confidence or trust. However they’ve made one correct decision that should be praised. The NEC has refused to allow Jeremy Corbyn MP back into the Labour Party.

Guido Fawkes said:

The left’s latest efforts to get the whip restored to Corbyn failed again last night, as a Labour NEC motion to bring him back into the fold fell massively short: according to LabourList the final tally showed 23 votes against, 14 in favour, and one abstention. Commiserations, Laura Pidcock.

The motion, proposed by union rep Ian Murray and local party rep Nadia Jama, claimed that Sir Keir’s suspending of Corbyn’s whip in November 2020 was “deeply divisive” and “disrespectful”. They then begged Labour Chief Whip Alan Campbell to see sense and bring the old boy back into the fold. Campbell reminded everyone Corbyn still hasn’t sufficiently apologised for the rampant antisemitism that arose within the Party under his leadership.

This is a good result for the more sensible elements in the Labour Party but the fact that there were still 14 supporters of Corbyn on the NEC despite the damage that Corbyn has done to the party, shows that the Momentum lunatics and Communists are still a dangerous force within the party. Despite what Sir Keir Starmer has done to make the party look more moderate and electable, the party is still hampered by the presence of a lot of Corbyn supporters and other similar far leftists.

In my opinion the continuing strength of the extremists in Labour in no way gives me enough confidence in Labour to consider voting for them. It’s still the same identity politics, anti British, far left dominated party at heart as it was under Corbyn. Starmer has a long long way to go to clear out the Momentum drek from the party before he can make Labour look like a sensible party again.

  1. Yes Labour is the same party but with a newish coat of paint on it. I think the real problem that’s coming is that the traditional and core voters of the Conservative party have lost faith in politics and just won’t vote at all. If there is no Reform candidate on the ballot paper I really doubt if I will make the effort to vote myself and I was a party member and supporter of the Conservatives for many years but not now.
