Have they run out of proper crime in Leicestershire or something?

It appears that there is little in the way of real and much needed policing for Leicestershire Constabulary to do these days. After all if this force can use officers and other resources to engage in pointless politicised virtue signalling over LGBT History Month, then surely the Leicestershire area must be a crime free haven of peace and tranquillity. Oh wait! It isn’t. According to one crime monitoring site, Leicestershire is a crime riddled hellhole with over 36k violent and sexual offences being recorded in 2021 alone. The city of Leicester itself is considered by the crime monitoring site mentioned earlier to be 30% more dangerous than the county of Leicester as a whole.

Leicestershire is a place that is in urgent need of proper, effective and accountable policing but that’s not what the residents of Leicestershire are getting. Instead of the policing they need, the residents of Leicester are getting woke politicised virtue signalling crap from their local force. Unnecessary virtue signalling crap like this for example:

For Leicestershire Police to put so much effort into virtue signalling over gay issues in a country where most people these days don’t give a toss whether you are gay or not, is wasteful politicised virtue signalling. It’s unnecessary. It’s also a slap in the face to those Leicestershire residents who are afflicted by a worryingly high crime rate and who are lumbered with a police force that is not properly or effectively acting as a crime prevention service, which should be one of the police’s roles.

I would be completely unsurprised if the attitude of some of those Leicestershire residents who have been victims of crime to this particular episode of minority pandering by Leicestershire Police was less than enthusiastic. In fact if I’d just been burgled and had little or no help from the local police, I’d be livid to see so much effort being put in to something that was so far from what should be the core of police work, that of preventing crime and apprehending the perpetrators of crime.

  1. Lol – yeah the entire Leicestershire Police force worked on that tweet instead of solving crimes. Yawn. You’ll notice that it’s not even from the official Police account…

The right way to gather the support the Police need to get results is demonstrate support of all parts of the community. Your choice to dismiss in this manner merely highlights your own unsubtle views on the marginalised.

Who’s marginalised here? It’s certainly not LGB and certainly not T’s. I agree that gaining support from all parts of a community is necessary but this isn’t doing that. It’s virtue signalling for a minority. Whilst I agree that this is a subsection of Leicester police rather than the whole force, the message that it sends out is that the police are less interested in general crime than in some crimes.
