From Elsewhere: The trans cuckoos still living in the BBC nest.

In the face of increasing public criticism about the actions and influence of the Stonewall organisation over Britain’s national public broadcaster, the BBC eventually had no choice but to sever their links with Stonewall. The body of evidence to show that the association with Stonewall was damaging the Corporation by undermining it’s claim of impartiality ended up getting too huge for the BBC to ignore.

The removal of Stonewall from their influential position within the BBC and its management should have been the end of the period when extremist trans cult nonsense would be promoted with the Corporation. Unfortunately that is not the case.

Two pieces published today in other publications point out that although Stonewall might be gone from the BBC, there are other equally obnoxious promoters of the cult of trans being contracted by the BBC to give training to staff. It appears that the BBC has merely swapped one group of trans activists in the form of Stonewall for another similar group called Global Butterfly.

According to a piece over at The Critic magazine by a necessarily pseudonymous author, this Global Butterfly group is attempting to get BBC staff to be ‘allies’ to LGB and T groups and that these allies should use their ‘privileges’ to affect change. The Critic magazine author said:

As the unnamed staff member knows, impartiality is usually “hammered into” staff, and he was left understandably confused by what Global Butterflies told him. “An ally uses their privilege” he was told, in order to effect change. “Don’t be afraid to protest” was another message that was disseminated, in open defiance of orders issued recently that staff should definitely avoid public protests. Much of the training session appears to have been cloaked in the now-usual childish unicorn colours, with grown adults talking of “magical ally powers”.

Global Butterflies is an independent company and is at liberty to pursue whatever goals it thinks will contribute to a better world. However, the BBC is bound by different concerns, not least the need to remain impartial on contentious issues so that it can command the support of all the UK public. Which begs the question, why were consultants such as Global Butterflies ever invited into the BBC? They have a clear agenda; on their website they state that they “help organisations adopt a zero-tolerance approach to trans-phobic behaviour and attitudes, while also taking steps to help them become more inclusive in their cultures.”

It’s clear to see that Global Butterfly is an activist group with an activist agenda and in my view are the very last sorts of people who should be training staff at a broadcaster that claims that they are striving to be impartial. There should be no place at the BBC for activists like this.

More information about this story came from Guido Fawkes who said said much the same as the Unherd writer but added that these Global Butterfly courses are not something that has gone on in the past but are still going on and that Global Butterfly are scheduled to run more courses. What concerns me the most about this story, apart from this activist group being invited into the BBC in the first place, is that BBC staff of supervisor grade, were present in the training session but did not intervene in order to emphasise to junior staff the necessity of impartiality.

This is another scandal for the BBC. If it was deemed necessary to have these ideological headcases talk to BBC staff then there should have been some effort by BBC management to remind junior staff that despite what they were being taught, impartiality should be paramount. What an absolute mess the BBC is in. First they allow a group like Stonewall to call the shots and then when they are caught out letting Stonewall call the shots they abandon Stonewall and get in a copycat organisation to promote similar guff. If we can’t trust the BBC to have supervisors ready and willing to tell staff to think impartially then how on earth can Britons trust the BBC to be impartial?

  1. Like a fish, the BBC is rotting from the head. A serious threat to their charter/income will be necessary to root out the woke cretins.

The BBC is in a right state and there are a lot of destructive leftist activists within the BBC who have far too much influence. You are correct in saying that it’s quite possible that only a serious threat to both charter and funding will be needed to propel the Corporation to kick out the whining woke wankers.

      • Let’s just abolish the henious tv tax, then they can whine all they like as we will not be paying for it. Many of us don’t watch their pathetic antics but are forced to pay for them on pain of a criminal conviction for watching free channels.

The BBC needs to become a subscription service. That way those who choose to fund the BBC do so and those who don’t do not.
