Quote of the Day. 12th July 2022. A snake complains about snakes.

Saw this below the line comment on an Unherd piece about the campaign in the Tory Party for a new leader. It is in reference to complaints made by Nadhim Zahawi that he was being ‘smeared’.

The commentator quoted below rated this as their ‘weirdest moment of the weekend.

Indeed. There is more slime and slimeballs in this Tory leadership election than could be found in a five gallon bucket full of slugs smothered in Vaseline.

  1. More slime balls indeed, I have never seen a government so mired in sleaze as this one. All the PM candidates to date dutifully filed through the lobby voting to change the law to save Patterson when he was found out about taking huge sums of money for lobbying. Now they want us to believe they are moral upstanding people who can be trusted. I will never believe another promise made by a Conservative politician in my life, the Conservative party and all those in it’s parliamentary party are proven to be utterly untrustworthy in my opinion.

  2. Roy, you could have left out the word conservative – they’re all as bad. 650 self-serving sheep, following orders and hoping to make millions on the side. A new Guido is need to remove this blot on our country

    • Your right, it’s just that I am an ex member of the Conservative party and resigned in disgust after the Patterson affair. Also my MP is a Conservative and I was taken in by all his false promises to the extent that I campaigned for him and helped him get elected. Once in office he made it very clear he had no real interest in the people who had helped him. His whole time in office has been devoted to furthering his own interests and career. I will be voting for his nearest rival next time, not because they are any better but just because I want to see the man that betrayed us out of office.
