How to troll back better.

Alex Stein and the spitting Leftists

The conservative provocateur, comedian and media personality Alex Stein is not that well known in the UK, but he’s a big deal in the USA. I can’t say that I approve of all his views or the views of groups that he’s been involved in, but I also have to recognise that he’s been brilliant as a real life troll mocking the sacred shibboleths of the Left. He turns up at public local government meetings dressed as a character such as a transgender swimmer who wants to compete against women or as a ‘Furry’ fetishist teacher who brings his fetish to work and wants his pupils to be able to become trans-species. By engaging in real life trolling of the Establishment in this way he mocks the sometimes lunatic views of said Establishment.

It goes without saying that Mr Stein is hated by the Left, really really hated. The Left really don’t want him to be able to speak and have demonstrated against him in ways that expose the censoriousness and fascistic behaviour of the Left. However rather than be cowed by the screaming violent headcases spawned by the US higher education sector, he laughs at the lunatics and gives them just enough metaphorical rope for them to hang themselves.

A good example of this was when he and fellow Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes (again not a person who I agree with on a number of issues but who should be allowed to speak his mind) were due to speak at Penn State University in Pennsylvania. As expected the planned speech brought out all the local lunatic Left to demonstrate against Mr Stein and Mr McInnes. The Leftists screamed at Mr Stein and surrounded him menacingly shouting at him to ‘shut up, shut up’. Mr Stein’s response to the screaming leftists was to laugh at them and to mock their screaming by doing the same thereby showing the world just how incoherent the US College Left has become.

At one point a young leftist woman spat at Mr Stein leaving a large trail of gob running down his suit jacket. However rather than be perturbed or upset Mr Stein just laughed and turned the violent act around by saying that the spitting ‘turned him on’ and that he was ‘into that’. He then added that he will have to tell the US Congresswoman Alexandria Occasio-Cortez, who Mr Stein has mocked previously, that he’s ‘got a new girl now’ in the form of the spitter. Mr Stein certainly did not give the Leftists the response that they so obviously desired.

Here’s two videos from the incident.

The speaking event was eventually cancelled as a result of the college caving in to the demands of the leftists and the speakers had to be removed from the area under police escort. However the message about the violent censorious Left has got out and it has got out primarily because Mr Stein chose to mock the violent thugs and in particular the woman who spat at him. Spitting at people is a particularly disgusting thing and I agree with what Jeremy from The Quartering said about the spitting incident which is that Mr Stein should make an assault complaint to the police. This is because firstly what happened to him is most obviously assault and secondly because if the Left have no consequences for spitting at Mr Stein then next time they might be tempted to throw something much worse than a bit of gob.

This incident has rebounded on the woman who spat at Mr Stein. Already you can find various memes of the spitter starting to go around and it’s likely that she will end up as well publicised for her action as other leftist thugs and extremists have been mocked.

The Left should have a right to speak and to demonstrate, just as anyone else with other views should be allowed to speak and demonstrate. But the sort of violence, intimidation, assault and criminal damage that was aimed at Mr Stein is not free speech and is not in my view morally acceptable.

What we’ve seen here is the left trying their best to troll Mr Stein only to find that Mr Stein has trolled back better.

Hatred makes the world a better place….

I don’t think that it is so much that there was hatred on the part of Mr Stein for the protestors but more that he reflected back the hatred that he got from the Leftists. Also some of what is called ‘hatred’ by the Left is all too often merely a person expressing a contrary point of view to that held by the Left. For example: Ben Shaprio gets called ‘hateful’ but I don’t see any hatred for others as individuals, instead what I do see is him questioning various ideologies promoted by the Left. He’s said that he socialises with gay couples who are married and doesn’t have a problem with these individuals.

Censorship is favoured by those who hold views that they are unable to defend in a free marketplace of ideas.
