From Elsewhere: Scottish politics is a cess pit.

Like many Englishmen I was initially somewhat ambivalent about the creation of a Scottish Parliament by the Blair government. I could see that it was probably correct, at that time at least, for there to be more powers going to a devolved government in Edinburgh and less decisions concerning Scotland taken by civil servants in Whitehall.

Unfortunately any high hopes that the Scots would be governed properly and effectively by a Scottish Parliament that coexisted with the national government in Westminster have long since been dashed. Scotland under Scottish National Party governance has turned out to be pretty bad with financial mismanagement and dwindling freedoms for Scots becoming the order of the day.

But the political situation in Scotland is turning out to be far far worse than mere fiscal mismanagement and draconian ‘hate speech’ rules. Scottish politics has turned into a complete and utter cess pit.

A good example of what the Scottish political cess pit contains comes from an article from early February 2023 from the Wings Over Scotland group. They’ve looked into the influence that various troubling individuals and groups have had over Scottish politics and what this group has found is extremely concerning. Wings Over Scotland have discovered that there are an awful lot of aggressive trans activists and those with various fetishes such as Furries, who have gained significant influence over the policies of the Scottish National Party and the Scottish Green Party, the two parties that currently dominate the Scottish Parliament.

Now of course I’m not saying that every person who identifies as trans or who has a fetish like those of the Furries, is a predator or who is predator adjacent, but the decentralised nature of these ideologies and fetishes do mean that they are vulnerable to be exploited by predators. Those who are predators and whose interest is in the very young are drawn to groups that might allow them access to children in some way. This is especially the case with the cult of trans and furry fetishism. The culture of dressing up in sparkly stuff as seen with many trans activists and the use of anthropomorphic furry animal suits so beloved of the Furries, could be very attractive to children and therefore is likely to be something that will also attract predators.

Scottish politics, at least in the case of the ruling parties up there, has become unduly influenced by both the promoters of the trans cult and those who are involved in the furry fetish scene. They have become close, extremely and worryingly close, to the movers and shakers in Scottish politics and is a large part of the the reason why the Scottish government has decided to throw the safeguarding of women and children under the proverbial bus and back lunatic policies like gender self-ID.

Read these two pieces from Wings Over Scotland and weep for what Scottish politics has become.
