From Elsewhere: Drag Queen Storytime is not the hill any political group should die on…..

….but it seems to be the one that the censorious ‘Stop Funding Hate’ group have chosen.

I’ve written before on here about the censorious left wing group Stop Funding Hate (SFH) and their long running campaign to silence any viewpoint that differs from that of their own or of their left wing mates. From long observation of this group and their associates it is quite clear that SFH would be more than happy if there was no negative comment in the media about such matters as immigration, the Channel Invasion Crisis, Islam and big cultural questions such as the rise of the Cult of Trans.

SFH have recently decided to get involved in the controversy surrounding Drag Queen Story Time (DQST) and to this end have decided to target criticism at a guest on a GBNews show who made some less than supportive comments about parents who consent to take their kids to such events. The commentator on GBNews said that parents who take their children to DQST events must be suffering from some sort of ‘narcissistic personality disorder’. Now whether this commentator is right or wrong in his assessment of those parents who are supportive of DQST is a matter for more detailed debate but working out why some parents think these events are good for their kids is something that should be discussed. Unfortunately the censorious lefites at SFH seem to believe that this discussion should not be had and that everyone should line up and be supportive of the idea that men in dresses portraying sexualised parodies of women is a suitable scene to expose toddler to.

You can see from SFH’s comments on the issue of GB News platforming those who disagree with DQST that SFH are so blinkered over this issue that they cannot see that there is another valid point of view on this issue, one that sees safeguarding problems with the whole DQST arena. There are a lot of people from varied political backgrounds and views who have a problem with DQST, it’s not a left or a right issue, it’s a safeguarding and appropriateness issue. It’s easy for political groups to make mistakes when campaigning and back the wrong social, political or cultural horse, but surely even the censorious fools who run SFH should be able to see that supporting DQST is not worth the bother and not a hill that any political or campaigning group should choose to die on.

  1. With respects Fahrenheit I note that on your profile you define yourself as a Liberal Bisexual Jew by conversion via marriage. I can’t therefore understand why you appear to be supporting the Christian fundamentalist Deacon on GB News and Turning Point?

First off, monster length reply alert.

How I identify or how I got to be where I am is really neither here or there when it comes down to the issue of gender identity ideology or about transgenderism and its effects on society. This is a right or wrong issue. It’s an issue of child safety, female safety, it’s an issue of basic damned human dignity and reality against deranged fantasy.

Is it right or wrong to put men in women’s spaces like toilets, prisons, changing rooms etc, knowing as you must that men are considerably physically stronger than women and have a much greater propensity to commit acts of violence or coercion? Is it right or wrong that the delusions of troubled children and teenagers are indulged, too often with tragic and life limiting results, when the treatment is worse than the condition? What about women’s sports, should we really be accepting of a situation where women who’ve had half a lifetime of training for big events, lose out to male competitors who only ‘identified’ as a woman a year or so before the competition? The achievement of women’s rights was a long hard slog and one that both men as well as women took part in, although the majority of the heavy lifting was done by women. Why should those rights be thrown away in order to appease a noisy minority of narcissists and bullies in the transgender movement? Personally I don’t think that they should.

As I’ve set out what are the rights and wrongs of this issue as I see it, before I continue what I need to say I will answer why I’ve agreed with Calvin Robinson and Turning Point on some issues and that is because on some issues they are correct. There are no doubt other issues that they speak of that I may disagree with. If you are as familiar with me and my writing as you clearly appear to be then you will know that I’ve agreed with various people on some things but not others. For example I despise what the Labour Party has become but I’ll gladly agree with what a Labour supporter says if it is broadly correct, it’s called taking a nuanced approach. I don’t know if you were trying to do a guilt by association trick by pointing out that on some issues I have agreed with TP and CR, but if you are then it hasn’t worked. Yes I take information from GB News, but then I also reference Sky, the BBC, ITV, Washington Post, Brietbart, The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Sun, various local newspapers both at home and overseas, state and non state news feeds from around the world, The Tablet, the Jewish conservative magazine Commentary, Church Times, Pakistan Tribune along with stuff from blogs and social media. Unlike some I try not to live in an echo chamber. Nearly all outlets have something interesting or relevant to say but that doesn’t mean that I’m completely aligned with any particular one of them. Just because I reference an article in the Guardian does not mean that I’m going to go out looking for Owen Jones on Grndr, perish the thought (applies mind-bleach).

But let’s talk about trans shall we, after all this is what you’ve obviously got a bee in your bonnet about.

I do admit that my views on the issue of trans have changed a great deal over the years. Whilst I am still supportive of those adults, over the age of 25, who feel that they have reached the last chance mental health saloon over gender self image issues and feel that they have little alternative but to transition, I also cannot deny that a lot of problems have emerged in the whole gender identity world over the last decade or so. My change of view does not mean that I hate individual transsexuals or that I don’t still think fondly of my lovely TS ex GF who not only loved me for too short a while but helped me in ways that I don’t think even she understood at the time. However despite my support for those adults of sound mature mind to transition if it’s what they really really want, it’s wrong to deny that there are problems with the whole transgender ideology. A big part of the problems as I see it is that there has been an emergence of a transgender movement that lumps together those who are transvestites or cross dressers and those who are genuinely and as near as damnit provably suffering from a mental condition that at present can only be relieved by the dangerous process of transition. These two groups are separate and should never have been forced teamed together. The interests of men with a fetishistic interest in cross dressing are not the same as those who suffer from an appalling mental burden of gender dysphoria of a sort that is resistant to other less destructive therapies. The sort of high status men who cross dress in order to be submissive in BDSM environments because they feel they can’t do this in male mode or the bisexually active ostensibly straight man who only gets aroused by men either when he or their male partner is cross dressed are just two of the types of cross dresser that exist. There are also others including those with worrying paraphilias centred around being in spaces where they are not really supposed to be, such as women’s toilets and changing rooms for example. There’s a whole range of different types of tranny and they can be straight, gay or bi, but what they all have in common is that they are men and deep down accept themselves as such. I’ve encountered rugby prop forwards who put on floaty sequined dresses of a Saturday night in a specialist club not because they want to be a woman but because they like dressing up and I’ve found such people to be mostly harmless and often great company. But what they are not are transsexuals. The trans activist movement has gone full tilt to blur the boundaries between those who have a kink about cross dressing and those who have a recognised mental condition that can at present and in a tiny number of cases, only be relieved by transition and only then as a very last resort.

The blurring of the boundaries between transvestite and transsexual has also encouraged the blurring of other boundaries as well. It has helped to blur boundaries about what intimate consent is between adults and also and most disturbingly blurred boundaries between adults and children and what is considered as child appropriate and not child appropriate.

I’m particularly concerned about the affects on children of the cult of trans and I need to say that I have two dogs in this fight. The first dog is that I’m a parent and I know that one of the main jobs of a parent is to prepare a child to become an adult. This includes helping your offspring navigate life and develop a sense of judgement between what is real and what is not. The idea that a person can change their sex in any meaningful way other than crudely cosmetically is not reality and we should not be in a position where children are told that it is possible to change sex in a meaningful way. Children are prone to magical thinking and a teacher or other adult is telling them that they can change sex then such false information gets all too easily believed. I’m fucking horrified about what I’m reading about the outcomes for children who’ve gone down the transition route because they and their parents have been convinced it’s the correct way by medics and activists who only care about cash and influence and care very little for the children with gender based mental illnesses.

The second dog I have in this fight is precisely because I’m Bi. For the record I haven’t made a big thing about my sexuality on here because it ain’t really a big thing for me any more, it’s just me. Ended up in a conventional marriage with a kid, just like the ‘Glad To Be Gay’ singer Tom Robinson. If you want the background (yawn) I realised back in my late teens that to me both Debbie Harry and Phil Daniels (in Quadrophenia lead role) were people I considered attractive and ID’d eventually as Bi, felt a bit odd at first but eventually it’s become no real biggie. Did a bit of event organisation/activism connected to the bisexual scene at the time a few decades ago with the intent of helping people in a similar position but then became interested in making bisexuality a bit ‘meh’ or unremarkable, or ‘so what’, after all it’s better to be accepted, even if grudgingly, than getting your head kicked in for being bi. The battle was won, as a general rule I’ve found that in the major cities and even many villages, few people really gives a toss any more about private adult sexuality. The people who want to be left alone now on the whole get left alone and that is what on the whole I was involved in this sort of activism for. My sexuality has very little relevance to what I write now and what I’m interested in now, however when it comes to the issue of transgenderism and its dangers then it does have a bearing. The problems posed by an aggressive and uncompromising and well funded trans cult on LGB and straight people was also something that I was considering writing about so consider this extended comment that piece brought forward.

If a society abolishes gender which is the ultimate aim of those promoting transgenderism and synthetic sex identities, then where does that leave those who are attracted primarily to the opposite sex, the same sex or both sexes? Hetero, Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual sexualities depend on there being two distinct sexes, it’s difficult to get away from that idea but the trans activists try by calling Hetero, Lesbian and Gay people ‘genital fetishists’. Personally I dislike being called a ‘genital fetishist’ and I know others feel this way too. It’s an icky phrase because it implies that you should, because ‘trans people demand it’, surrender consent to be intimate with those whom you are hard wired to choose, whether that be same or opposite sex, or both and instead be intimate with those that the votaries of trans command.

Because of the rise of the cult of transgenderism and the backroom political power its activists have achieved, we now have a situation where Lesbians are having to meet in secret and use subterfuge on dating apps, to avoid their meetings whether social or political being invaded by men in dresses, bad make-up and with bad attitudes, or finding all their dating app replies being men. Lesbians having to hide themselves and their groups and activities away was supposed to have died off years ago, but has come back thanks to trans harassment.

Gay men are being castigated by trans activists or trans captured gay organisations to accept as partners that which would be abhorrent to them, which is a female-bodied individual with no natural male or masculine attributes. This makes a complete mockery of any concept of free consent to sexual activity.

Bisexuals who believe in biological reality and who recognise that they are attracted to both men and women and that sex differences are real and important, are also I understand less than welcome in the small clique of activists that claim to represent bisexuals to various state bodies. Most UK bi organisations appear to have been captured by trans activists from what I can gather speaking to those who are still having dealings with them. There’s always been some transvestites and the occasional transsexual bobbing around the bisexual scene going back years, they hung around bi’s because of the laid back tolerance, but now the trans ideology has taken over, you must accept the identity that a person declares,in other words you must accept the lie. Hetero, L, G and B all relate to sexuality, what types of bodies and more specifically what sex those bodies are you are attracted to. Manchester which used to have a healthy bi social scene is now dominated by a trans focussed LGBT group that from what I can gather treats bis as an afterthought.

Trans, Queer and all the rest of the QWERTYOP nonsense is less to do with sex and sexuality and more to do with self image self identity etc etc. This is why I support the idea of ‘dropping the T’ as it doesn’t fit with LGB. Some of the TQI stuff is also probably attention seeking after all it means an ostensibly straight bloke can make himself look edgy and part of a hip minority by claiming that they are ‘gender queer’ or ‘non binary’ without having to have to go through the distressing, for him, business of fellatio with an intimate friend. TQI etc and to a lesser extent Bisexual identities are ones that can be claimed by attention seekers without having to make that much of an effort to do so. On social media for example there are many millenial women, especially those on the Left, who claim to be bisexual because it sounds interesting but you just can’t help suspecting that with a lot of them the only vulva that they’ve ever seen is their own. Same applies to blokes doing the same thing, make the claim but don’t play the game sort of thing.

The more I dig into the whole trans movement the more worried I become. I’m worried about the affect on children, especially children who might be going through relatively normal and natural periods of gender non conforming behaviour. Most of these kids when left alone desist from this behaviour and a great many of them if not ‘transitioned’ turn out to be relatively normal well adjusted straight, gay, lesbian or bisexual adults. Putting trans propaganda in the hands of naive children and treating such propaganda as truth is truly an utterly appalling thing and has I’ve little doubt, played its part in sending confused and frightened children onto the conveyor belt of gender transition that they should never have been put on.

I worry also about the affect of the cult of trans on women who are seeing hard won rights taken away from them by men who are so morally vacuous that they see nothing wrong in using their superior physical strength achieved by being born male, to out compete women on the sports field. I am of the belief that no man should ever go into a space where there are good grounds for the space to be reserved for women whether that be a changing room or a handbag. It’s why I feel disgust at those trans identified men, whether they be in sport, business, politics or culture or those who are trans identified sex criminals who see nothing wrong with discomforting or disadvantaging women. They might identify as women but they are still brim full of a type of entitlement that even I as a man can recognise as incredibly sexist. It might not be socially acceptable these days for example for a man in a position of authority in a business to be a bit ‘handsy’ with female underlings, but it is it seems worryingly socially acceptable, at least among those in high cultural, administrative and political circles, to accept the idea that a man can claim he’s a woman and then treat women like shit. The trans movement is bad for women it has allowed men to steal women’s spaces, steal their jobs, steal their domestic violence refuges, steal their prizes, steal their stories and histories and steal their very identities, all of which is wrong in my view. Somehow that doesn’t seem like progress to me. It is Womanface and it’s easy to see how it is very little different morally or ethically from the Black and White Minstrel Show.

I’ve had to change my view of the whole trans issue because I’ve been presented with compelling evidence going back years that shows me that there is something badly wrong with transgender ideology. Although I’ve met some very sorted and together transsexual people and some relatively harmless transvestites that doesn’t mean I think or have to think the same about the transgender ideology. It’s not as far as I can see having a great deal of good outcomes whether for women, for children, for LGB people or society as a whole. The whole trans asylum is run by the most damaged type of lunatic activist and what’s worse is that we are supposed to not subject the ideology of gender to any critical scrutiny. What sort of ideology avoids scrutiny or criticism or debate as much the advocates of transgender ideology does, an ideology that has within it a great deal of inherent flaws that’s what.

The cult of trans is helping to stir up a massive backlash among the general population especially as trans cultists interest in children is becoming much more well known among the public. Pushing trans ideology on children, schools forcing girls at vulnerable points in their lives to share toilet facilities with testosterone ravaged teenage boys, drag queen story time, fringe characters on the ‘Queer / Left’ holding signs during pro drag queen story time demonstrations with distinctly paedophilic slogans on them such as ‘Queer joy for all ages’ is really really starting to piss people off. What’s more is that the public are quite correct to be pissed off. The cult of trans has gone too far even for those of us who might have given this cult the benefit of the doubt in the past. What really bothers me is that the trans crowd are by their lunacy and general dodgyness stoking up a backlash and if, or more likely when, that backlash comes then it will be the innocent bystanders in the LGB communities who will cop it. Hopefully the movement of LGB people that is growing; a movement that rejects the lunacy, violence, bullying, sexism, homo and bi phobia and emotional incontinence of the ideology behind the letters TQ will go some way to tempering that backlash. I’m pleased to see that both in the UK and in the USA there are LGB people who recognise the damage that the trans movement and the ‘gruesome groomery gallery’ that too often makes up its accepted public face is doing not only to their communities but to their nation’s societies.

I fully supported the original intent behind the gender recognition act, it was something that was to help that miniscule number of Britons who have become simulacrums of the gender they feel themselves to be. However, nearly twenty years down the line legislative and social changes to help this small number of genuine transsexuals has been exploited by some seriously strange and disturbed individuals, organisations and ideologies. How in less than twenty years did we get from a legislative change that should really have only affected a thousand Britons a year if that, to the situation we have now where even the leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition can’t bring himself to utter an obvious fact, which is only women possess a cervix? I don’t know if the rise of the gender identity cult was a foregone conclusion of allowing gender transition recognition or if the excesses of the gender identity cult could have been avoided whilst still helping transsexuals, but what I do know is that the excesses of the trans identity cult need to be countered by debate, critical examination of their beliefs and in the political sphere.

I hope this answers your question as to why I have an issue with the cult of trans.

As an aside. I support people’s right to speak whether I agree with them or not. I don’t very much like the Stalin Society except as something to laugh at, but I would not want them censored.
