Sounds awful. Where do I sign up? It sounds better than going to Khan’s London.

There’s a story doing the rounds about a truly horrible holiday that a British couple endured in Egypt. The couple ended up witnessing a dead dog in the hotel, trails of vomit, a fight between a group of six men and to top it all off they came back to the UK with serious diaroeah and infected pus-filled mosquito bites.

Despite all that they endured I’d rather risk seeing some fights, encountering a bit of vomit and a dead dog, get the shits and have some infected mozzie bites rather than have a holiday in London. A London holiday might have ended up with them being mugged, stabbed or being caught up with some kinetic Islamic enrichment of the sort that innocent people suffered during the London Bridge attacks of a few years back.

A few pus-filled mozzie bits and a wobbly tummy is better than being stabbed and there’s much worse on London’s streets than a dead dog, some vomit and a bit of fisticuffs. This couple should count themselves lucky that they hadn’t holidayed in London and not only risked mugging or death at the hands of London’s increasingly stabby population, but also being taxed into penury by the Greater London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

  1. With respects you are making no sense at all. You are blaming Sadiq Khan for crime rates in our Capital inferring that a Conservative mayor would have done it better. A Conservative mayor would also have to have been quite special to have opposed policing cuts in the name of austerity and other services including youth provisions to give school leavers for instance real employment opportunities as opposed to no hope and only criminality, and notably drug dealing, paying.

Compare Khan’s regime with Boris Johnson’s and there’s a massive difference. Yes eventually Khan agreed to bring back stop and search but by that time the damage had been done with regards street crime.

I certainly agree that London needs more opportunities but these opportunities are not going to be created by a mayor who is hostile to the very sort of businesses such as manufacturing, logistics, physical services (repair/refurb etc) and similar that might provide an alternative to the criminal gangs. Also these businesses, even if they could afford to operate in London, will not set up there if the place is a crime filled hell hole.

As regards the Tories, it was a major mistake at the last mayoral election for them not to throw as much effort as they could behind Shaun Bailey. He’s a man who has come up from the bottom, understands the street culture and is pro law and order and pro opportunity. Unfortunately the Tories gave him the bare minimum of support and that was not enough to get over the inbuilt advantage that Khan has with postal voting.
