An eminently sensible decision

The BBC reports:

British Cycling is to ban transgender women from the female category of its competitions following a nine-month review and consultation.

Under a new participation policy that the governing body said was “predicated on fairness”, such athletes will compete in an ‘open category’ with men.

The changes will prevent riders such as Emily Bridges potentially being part of the British women’s team.

Last year Bridges – the country’s highest-profile transgender cyclist – was stopped from competing in her first elite women’s race by the UCI, cycling’s world federation, despite meeting the rules at the time.

This is as it should be. Women’s sport must be protected by ensuring that women’s sport is only for those observed (not ‘assigned’) to be female at birth.  Those born male have inherent physical advantages that women do not have and to continue to speak the lie that this is not the case, as too many organisations that have been captured by the Trans Cult have done, makes sport cruelly unfair to female competitors. The only criticism that I have of this decision is that it should not just be applied to the elite levels of cycling, but to every level, from juniors via the amateur cycling field and every other form of competitive cycling.

Yes. For once a sensible decision, a sensible solution. Maybe three categories
    a) Male
    b) Female
    c) Unsure/fluid/transitional/might have made a mistake here/can I have them stitched back on?

yes a good decision. The trans types should compete against other trans

  2. I read the tantrum that Bridges threw over this decision, and it was a tantrum. It’s exactly what you would expect from someone of a generation who have been indulged their whole lives, and are only now being told “no, you cannot do that”. As a result, you get an hysterical meltdown that ridiculously equates a simple ban to genocide. This was the right decision, and I hope other sporting bodies will follow suit. Bridges has NO idea what genocide actually is. I served in the British army for 30 years, including tours in Bosnia and Kosovo. To compare what British cycling have done to mass murder is not only extremely ignorant, it’s highly offensive to the victims and families of victims of actual genocide.

Very good points there Pete. It wasn’t just a tantrum, it ws a narcissitic and self-entiled tantrum. I also agree that the use of the word genocide by TRA’s to describe attempts to crack down on their bullying is an insult to those who have suffered genocide.
