Six months on.

The Gaza strip

The Sunday just passed was the sixth month anniversary of the attack by Hamas terrorists and ordinary Gazans on Southern Israel that happened on the 7th October 2023 (7/10). This attack by the Islamic terrorists of Hamas and their supporters resulted in the brutal murders of 1139 people, numerous rapes and the carrying off of hundreds of Israelis and others in to brutal and probably lethal captivity. The victims of this dastardly attack were Israeli civilians, foreign nationals visiting or working in Israel and members of the Israeli security services.

The attack was the worst pogrom against Jews since the Holocaust and was I believe the first time that Israel was “successfully” invaded by enemies since the Israeli War of Independence in 1948, when Arab nations attempted to destroy the UN mandated State of Israel before it could be properly formed. Those of us who saw the initial live feeds of the bestial violence of Hamas and Gazan civilians will never forget what we saw and we will never forgive Hamas and their enablers for what they did.

In this article I will not rehash the stories of Hamas’s violence, which was both Islam-inspired and rooted in Islamic Jew hatred; there are other writers both Israeli and non-Israeli who have done a far better job of that than I could. However I want to speak about where we are now six months on from the Hamas attack and in particular how the aftermath of this attack has affected the United Kingdom.

The period from 7/10 until now has been a great revelation to many in the West. We’ve seen clearly whose side many Muslims and Leftists in the United Kingdom are on and it’s not the side of peace or coexistence or democracy. For six months we’ve had weekly pro-Hamas hate marches in London and elsewhere, with these demonstrations made up of Muslims, those from the revolutionary Left and the sort of Jew haters that have never gone away but as is often the case pop up when there’s an opportunity to bash Jews. These demonstrations have also been attended by and addressed by Labour MP’s and high ups from the Trade Union movement.

The presence of Labour MP’s on these pro-Hamas marches, and the consistent Israel bashing online by Labour MP’s, has also shown that the Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer’s claim that Labour has changed from what it was during the years that Jeremy Corbyn led it, to be false. Labour still contains just as many far left Jew haters, Islamic supremacists and historically ignorant woke extremists as it did under Corbyn. Sir Keir may have kept the political nutcases and Islamic religious extremists that make up too much of the party’s membership quiet for a couple of years but they are still there and the Labour leader has done very little to properly deal with these dangerous individuals and subsections of the Labour Party. The fact that clowns like Richard Burgon MP and Zarah Sultana MP are still in the Labour Party and still spouting their bullshit and nonsense about Israel and shilling for Hamas by regurgitating Hamas propaganda shows us that at heart Labour has not changed much since the Corbyn leadership period.

The last six months has also revealed just how nasty many British Muslims are when it comes to Jews. The frothing support for the bestial terrorists of Hamas that has come from within the British Muslim community has shocked many who bought into the false idea that Islam truly is a ‘religion of peace’. According to a recent survey quoted in the Times of Israel, 46% of British Muslims supported the terror group Hamas, only 1 in 4 of them believed that Hamas had committed atrocities against women in the 7/10 attack and 46% believe in the anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that ‘Jews run Britain’. These are not the viewpoints of those who are peaceful or respectful of the faiths of others or even of those who wish to integrate into British society, these are the viewpoints of those who are objectively Jew-hating fascists. What is worse is that these figures may be an underestimate and the figures regarding Islamic Jew hatred and Islamic religious and political extremism might in reality be much much worse and more prevalent in Islamic communities than the survey figures say they are. Muslims have become, I’m sad to say, the Moselyite Blackshirts of our times. If the figures from the survey are even remotely accurate, then it’s fair to say that Britain has an Islamic Jew, Christian and West, hatred problem that dwarfs any ‘Islamophobia’ problem that might exist. The six months since 7/10 have truly shown up as a lie the mantra trotted out by Britain’s Establishment that Islam is a ‘religion of peace’. Instead it has shown that a worryingly large number of Britain’s Muslims are prepared to take to the streets and call for jihad, chant for a genocide of Jews and be quite relaxed about the idea of coming out in full throated support for Hamas, one of the most bestial Islamic terror groups since the creation of ISIS.

The six months since the 7/10 Pogrom have also exposed much of what many of us knew or suspected about our public services and in particular the police, which is that they no longer operate in any sort of impartial manner. There has been two tier policing in spades from police forces across the country who say nothing and do nothing about aggressive, intimidatory and often racialist Leftist and Islamic demonstrations on our streets when they should have done and when we know that if these demonstrators had been from some other non-Left or non-Islamic cause, then these protests would be shut down.

Whilst this two tier policing and police Islamopandering has been a nationwide problem, it is the Metropolitan Police who have in my view been the utter worst of the lot. This force has been revealed to be completely bent when it comes to Islam and the Far Left. This force was caught out having a Muslim with extremely questionable extremism adjacent views acting as one of their ‘community advisors’ and what’s concerning is this might not be a one off, there might be dozens more like this man still poisoning the policing wells who have not yet been exposed. It is the Met who beclowned themselves by making only half hearted token attempts to stop violent jihadists from screaming for jihad on the streets of London and the Met who turn a blind eye to the display of the Nazi swastika at demonstrations, provided that is that the swastika is being displayed by a Muslim or a Leftist.

But what of Britain’s Jews you ask? Well there are a lot of scared, unhappy and angry British Jews out there and Britain’s Jews have a right to be that way. We’ve seen the aforementioned failure by police forces to do anything other than vigorously lick the suppurating ringpieces of Islam no matter what the social cost or the reputational cost to the police. The police have picked a side and it ain’t Britain’s Jews. Oh some officers might of course make the correct multikulti noises about how they will protect everyone including Jews but deep down many of us are wondering how soon will come the sad need for something like the old 43 Group to arise to deal with the problems that the police are refusing to deal with? If we cannot rely on the police to protect us then we have to protect ourselves. It’s clear that Britain’s Jews have been let down by the political, media and security classes in Britain and it is a situation that disgusts me. The political field is dominated by idiotic politicians who will not call out where our current problems are coming from and fail to take seriously a situation that, although is currently primarily afflicting Jews, will come to harm everyone in the end. The media, both the state run media like the BBC and private media like Sky, are cesspits of partisanship towards Hamas. These organisations take on trust the propaganda of Hamas and bake it into their news reports giving it a false carapace of truth to the far too many Britons who take what comes out of these organisations seriously. As for the security classes who should be there to protect both Jew and non-Jew from malignant political and ideological organisations and currents, well we’ve seen what has happened to the police and the military is mired in DEI guff to such an extent that they are now unreliable as entities.

There is the beginnings of a communal wake up call being heard across the land. I think that this call to realism about the world and the nature of the current threats may have been heard and noted first among Orthodox Jews but is starting to be felt in non-Orthodox circles as well. I’m coming across non-Orthodox Jews who are slowly realising that many of the more naive ideas that they ascribed to have been shown to make as much difference to the world as a man farting would make to a hurricane. Stuff like interfaith work with Muslim groups that a lot of Liberal and Reform Jews have undertaken has made little difference to the levels of Islam inspired Jew hatred. Turnout at interfaith events such as Muslim / Jewish Iftar events are down or so I’ve heard from my sources. Some Jews who previous embraced the false idea that ‘Muslims are like Jews really’ are realising that both leftists and Muslims have lied to them about this and are coming to the conclusion that on things like personal morality and keeping the peace of the city in which you live, about the only thing that unites Jews and Muslims is an avoidance of bacon.

British Jews are finding out who our friends are and we have had to find out that the hard way. We’ve found out by seeing the Left that we thought were critical friends turn into enemies who march and cheer for those who want Jews dead. We’ve lost lifelong friendships in some cases over a war that is clearly not the fault of the State of Israel and seen those who we thought were sensible and rational individuals start spouting stuff about Israel that would not be out of place in the notorious forgery, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. However we’ve found friends in places where we might not have expected to find them and some supporters of Jews and Israel such as Douglas Murray and Tommy Robinson, have not wavered in that support despite being in positions where following the crowd of Jew haters would have given them personally easier lives.

As for myself, I consider myself extremely lucky. Where I live there is not a critical mass of hate filled Muslims as there is in London, Birmingham and Manchester. The main pro-Hamas shite I’ve seen where I am consists of a few wanky stickers from Leftists about ‘genocide in Gaza’ and a few lefty Trustafarians carrying ‘Palestine’ flags (which to me is now the new swastika for our times) shouting at Tesco’s. There’s also been some playground bullying of our child but thankfully it has been nipped in the bud by the school as far as I can tell. How long this relatively tolerable situation will last who can tell and maybe I’ll join those thousands of other British Jews who decide that going to live in the actual warzone that is Israel is better and more secure than living in the UK?

As well as kicking off an existential war that Israel needs to win to survive, the pogrom of 7/10 has also exposed to greater public view much that has gone wrong about the United Kingdom. It’s exposed the very high levels of Jew hatred and Nazi-like thinking that exists in Britain’s Islamic communities, the willingness of the far left to go along with Islamofascist causes and the extent of Islamopandering in our police forces. The attack on Israel by jihadist Islamic savages has brought out into the open a whole load of awful stuff that those who rule over us might have preferred to have remained hidden, things such as the incompatibility of many Muslims with open multi-religious societies and the extent of religious and political bias in public services.

The 7/10 Pogrom did not only take the lives of over 1100 people in Israel and plunge the Middle East into war, but caused people in Western countries to choose whether they were to be on the side of Israel and civilisation or Hamas and barbarism. What’s scary and worrying is that too many of those who should have every reason to choose the side of civilisation such as the left and those who purport to be for peace and inter-religious coexistence, have instead chosen the side of barbarism. The effects of the 7/10 Pogrom will have a profound influence of society in general and not just on Jews for decades to come.

  1. Well written. There appears to be a deliberate intent to hand the country over to islam. The future is not looking good for all jews and non muslims here.

Thank you for the compliment. There may be some who are more favourable to Islam than either secularism or Christianity but it could also be the case that those in authority are so enamored of identity politics that they’ve created a situation that Islam can easily exploit. It’s similar to the Troon issue. It might not be directly connected to a permissive attitude to paedophilia but it’s an ideology that nonces can easily exploit.

  2. Pleased to hear that in the area where you live there is no obvious hostility, I believe (and certainly hope) most of this country is like that.

In truth l think Israel has been put in an absolutely impossible position following the events of 8th September and am certain this was always Hamas’s intention. Hamas knows it cannot win militarily so it has created a situation intended to weaken Israel politically. In that context they have ‘played a blinder’ strategically so far.

Like most people I find what is happening in Gaza horrifying and hope that it comes to an end as soon as possible, where l probably diverge from the ‘protestors’ you mention is how l apportion blame. Sure, Israeli weapons and troops are what is causing the injuries and damage but, given the circumstances, what alternative do they have and are they actually to blame?

Hamas chose to wage war on women, children, civilians and elderly. Hamas chose to attack Israel in a manner which forced and guaranteed a strong military response. Hamas chose to hide behind their own women, children, civilians and elderly when Israel’s (forced) response came. Hamas chose to do these things knowing the horrors that would be visited on the innocent and defenceless purely to score some political point. Israel has had no choice in any of this.

Evil is certainly stalking the land in Gaza and it is not Israel.

Although Israel has been left with no choice in this, once Hamas is removed as a threat, it may be necessary (and politically wiser) for the international community to deal with the aftermath.

p.s. with regard to the aid workers who were killed – why were they travelling in convoy at night through that sort of war zone? Guessing there is a good reason but it seems a bit like hanging a target on your back to me.

Some very good points there. Israel would have been content to leave Gaza alone and only monitor it had not Hamas decided to invade Israel. Like you I believe that Israel hd little choice but to take military action against Hamas and it is Hamas who are the ultimate cause of the civilian deaths in Gaza.

As regards the aid workers and their security staff it’s obvious that although the Israeli military may have made mistakes I agree that traveling by night and being accompanied by Hamas operatives increased the risk that they would be targeted accidentally or that intel would be confused.

  3. With regard to your concerns about the protests and antisemetism etc in this country and across the west. While obviously threatening and unpleasant for the Jewish community l believe it will, in the long run, strip away the defence of being the ‘religion of peace’ that Islamists have been hiding behind.
As they don’t do compromise, equality or democracy l think Islamists will be unable to resist overplaying their hand on this (as well as other issues) and will be seen by more and more people as the frothing bullies they actually are. I expect this to happen fairly quickly under the coming labour government

I’m coming around to your way of thinking. The Bearded Savages have played their hand too early. I was arguing years ago that there was a problem with Islamic groups gaining access and influence on police forces and over the course of the last six months this has been clearly revealed to the general public and has been revealed much earlier than I reckon that many of these Islamic groups might have liked.

  4. My comments above should, of course, have referred to October 7th not September 8th.
Don’t know what l was thinking but please accept my apology for the stupidity on my part.

No worries. We all make keyboard errors. I’ve done it myself. I once wrote a letter for a public sector organisation that I worked for where I spelled ‘Libya’ as ‘Labia’.
