Left wing or merely deluded worshippers of the NHS are up in arms about the new Health Secretary Wes Streeting bringing on board former Labour health secretary Alan Milburn to assist in the NHS reform that Labour is saying will be undertaken. Some on the Left are unhappy at Mr Milburn’s association with private health organisations and are getting upset about that.

However a Twitter/X user called ‘Gay Manc’, a political conservative, whining about the effect that Mr Milburn’s prescence in the Health ministry would have on NHS staff, responded with something that hits at the heart of Britain’s dysfunctional healthcare system.

Gay Manc said:

Gay Manc is correct. Who is the NHS run for the benefit of? It should be the patients but it is not. Too often the NHS seems to be run for the benefit of its staff and that should not be the case. I really don’t care if there’s a massive haircut of management ballast or that we cease to stuff the mouths of doctors and nurses with gold extorted from taxpayers. I want an efficient and affordable and reliable healthcare system and that’s not what many Britons are getting from the NHS despite the massive amounts of resources that are expended on it.
