Although in some things my politics leans to the Right, on other matters I’m a bit of an old fashioned liberal who wants the State to not interfere in people’s lives any more than is strictly necessary. But there is a fine but highly visible line that a political party needs to be aware of that is the division between being liberal and being so utterly and completely mad that it puts many voters off choosing your party. Looking back at the US Presidential and other elections that have recently taken place, it may well the case that the US Democrats shot themselves in the foot by their choice of policies and candidates.
If I was an ordinary American approaching this recent election and I was faced with a choice between Donald Trump, a flawed individual and the Democrats with flawed policies then I’d more than likely choose Mr Trump.
Someone else who appears to think that way is Nick Tyrone. Mr Tyrone, writing for Spiked Magazine said that the perception of the Democrats were that they had become ‘woke scolds’ and that is partly what did for them.
Mr Tyrone said:
In a democracy, you have to take the electorate as it is – you can’t wish for it to be something different and hope that works out for you. I have no doubt the American voting public are willing to be liberal on a great many topics – look how far gay rights have come over the past decade, for instance – but there are limits. They aren’t going to go along with the idea that biological sex doesn’t exist, or that all young men should shut up and check their privilege. Ultimately, that is going to backfire on you. Just like it has for the Democrats.
The Democrats promoted too many lunatic policies that didn’t connect to the electorate. The lure of freely available abortion didn’t move women to vote for them as much as the trans issue put them off choosing the Democrats. Also the identity politics, the race baiting the sneering at ordinary American men. The Democrats in my view promoted too many policies that turned off voters and this party has found that slagging off or pissing off the ordinary American men and women hasn’t worked and that as Mr Tyrone said there are not enough non-binary people to make up the shortfall of votes that the Democrats lost.
The Democrats need to learn one big lesson from their election loss and that is they’ve got to appeal to the majority of Americans and produce policies that primarily benefit that majority. The alternative which was promoting policies that only tiny numbers of far left activists wanted has in my view been a major factor in the Democrat Party’s losses. With better more popular policies the Democrats might not be in the position they are now and I believe that they’ve got to dump the far left, identity politics and Green junk to stand any chance of re-election in the future.

It’s funny how both identity politics and the Green junk, go hand in hand. Neither have anything to do with eachother apart from their toxic extremist views used by the far-LEFT to fracture, censore and enslave the majority who are taxed and impoverished to pay for it.
