From Elsewhere: Video – Mainstream media starts to take an interest in London’s potential grooming gang problem.

One of the things I’ve noticed about the Grooming Gang problems that Britain suffers from is that there is a pattern in how they are covered and publicised. In the first instance it is those who are media outsiders such as Tommy Robinson or earlier the British National Party or whistleblowers like Raja Miah who bring the issues of Grooming Gangs up and often get slated or even legally harassed because of it. Then a few brave souls like Andrew Norfolk from mainstream media outlets start to take an interest but their stories are often not picked up or amplified by the wider mainstream media. Finally there is a mainstream media shitstorm about these crimes which starts a pressure wave against politicians who may have underestimated the scale of the problem or worse covered the problem up.

Where we are now with regards to the potential Grooming Gang problems in London is the final stage the stage where the mainstream media pick up on the story and kick up a shitstorm that may result in political pressure being put on certain politicians who may have not taken the issue of Grooming Gangs seriously enough when first raised.

The Daily Express in Britain has certainly decided to go in all metaphorical guns blazing against London Mayor Sadiq Khan over the issue of Grooming Gangs in London. They’ve put out a video asking pointed questions about the situation regarding Grooming Gangs in London and whether or not the Mayor is taking this matter seriously.

Here’s the link to the video:

The only issue I have with the video is the prominent featuring of former cop Jon Wedger. If the Express are relying on him for any significant part of their investigation then I’d advise them to make sure that they are not taking Mr Wedger’s claims at face value without back up sources. This is because he first popped up on my radar because of the Hampstead Abuse Hoax. For those who don’t know this was a false claim made by an individual that there was Satanic Ritual Abuse going on at a school in Hampstead in London. One of the contributors to the Hoaxted blog a blog concerning the devastating Hampstead Abuse Hoax claimed that Mr Wedger is a bit of a fantasist and has made claims that have collapsed when examined more closely. The major claim that made me not wish to rely on Mr Wedger as a sole source for any story is that Mr Wedger claimed that sex offenders were able to evade controls put on them by Sex Offenders Register orders by living on narrowboats in London. Hoaxted’s contributors busted Mr Wedger on this issue. If someone can get something so basic so badly wrong then it makes me distrust anything else that person says.

I was pleased to see that the video was featuring Maggie Oliver as she is an ex cop who has been a driving force in highlighting the issue of Grooming Gangs and fighting them.

It is in my view a positive sign that a mainstream media outlet such as the Daily Express is getting on board with the story about Grooming Gang activities in London. Personally I find it difficult to believe that London, a place with similar demographics and political control to those other areas that have been afflicted by Grooming Gangs, doesn’t have a similar problem.

It’s easy and sometimes justified to bash MSM outlets but the fact that the Express is willing to stick their head above the parapet on this is to be welcomed. Remember an outlet like the Express might face ruinous libel and other damages claims if they got a story like this wrong. Because they are making such a noise about this story it leads me to believe that the Express may be in possession of a whole lot of information that might shall we say insulate them from legal challenge. They may have a lot more ammunition in their bag than just people like Jon Wedger whose questionable past is easy to uncover. If they’ve got the receipts such as emails, statements by politicians and timelines regarding who said what and to whom then they might be sitting on top of one of the biggest and most awful stories to come out of London in decades.

If nothing else the Express story might encourage people and especially Londoners to ask both the Mayor Sadiq Khan and the current Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police what they knew and when with regards to group based child sexual exploitation.
