Protect Pride from who is a question that Britain’s political and media class is mostly not answering.

Various news sources are reporting that following the Jihadist attack on a Pride festival in Berlin, Germany there will be armed police out and about at the weekend for one of Britain’s biggest Pride events Brighton Pride. But, with very few honourable exceptions, the political and media classes are not going into any detail or even mentioning at all the nature of the threat to Brighton Pride.

MP’s are saying that the cause of the Berlin atrocity was generic ‘hate’ whilst Establishment LGBT entities and spokespersons are calling for an end to ‘division’.

But what could be the cause of the need for armed police to be required to guard a massive festival of LGB people? What is the nature of this ‘hate’ and the ideology behind it and where is the ‘division’ coming from? Is the generic and un-explainable ‘hate’ that is the cause? Is the threat coming from a few mentalist Methodists or murderous Mennonites? No it’s coming from Islamic extremism and our cowardly media and political classes and the Establishment LGBT wallahs really do not want to mention that. This is because to mention this specific threat to LGB people and their allies would pull out a keystone of the whole ‘identity’ and ‘diversity’ ideologies.

To admit that the threat comes from radical Islam would mean asking awkward questions about the diversity and inclusion ideologies that dominate Britain’s politics, media, administration, third sector and some businesses. It might mean asking should we really, as the Bible says, ‘love the stranger’ even if said strangers come with bad attitudes to everyone else and a murderous intent? Personally I believe that we should not. In my view a scattergun migration and religious tolerance policy where every illegal arrival is a genuine ‘refugee’ and every faith, even ones that have a long history of war against the rest of us, is a ‘religion of peace’, has clearly gone against the instruction in the book of Jeremiah to ‘keep the peace of the city in which you find yourself in exile’. However all of us, whether we be Exiles or not, need to keep the peace of the city and to keep that peace requires honesty about the threats that we face and we are clearly not getting that honesty from our politicians, media or other groups. None of them want to admit that we have a big problem less still admit the nature of the problem, all they will do is utter empty and evasive words and paper over the cracks with armed police.

Armed police guarding a Pride in the United Kingdom should be a wake up moment for Britons and especially Britain’s LGB’s. I’m old enough to remember going to Prides in London and the worst that happened would be a chant of ‘2468 is that copper really straight?’ to a particularly good looking policeman followed by a cheer if he smiled or a drunken domestic dispute between an L, G or B couple. There were police obviously and more police where the Leviticus obsessives could display their placards expressing their displeasure at Pride happening at all. But there was never a need for armed police specifically to protect the attendees at Pride, not even to protect the LGB ex-Muslims or those who try to reconcile being Muslim with being LGB, although there might have been more subtle security for this group that I may not have noticed.

I’m not sure what angers me the most. Is that Pride in Brighton now needs an armed guard or is it that few in Britain’s political or media or activist classes will admit to the nature of the problem that requires Brighton Pride? Maybe it should be both? Pride should not need an armed police guard and the political, media and activist classes should admit why such a great, noticeable and notable step is needed.
