Hey! Teacher! Leave those kids alone. The ongoing scandal of ‘drag queen story time’

An image from Drag Queen Story Time in Bristol from the Bristol Post. I have pixellated as many of the images of the children's faces as possible.

We don’t need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey, teachers, leave them kids alone

(Another Brick In The Wall – Pink Floyd – 1979)

When Roger Waters wrote the words of the classic song, some of whose lyrics are shown above, he seemed primarily concerned about how children were, as he saw it being forcibly molded into following a predetermined path into the bourgeoisie. Forty odd years on from that song coming out, it is still sadly relevant, but this time it’s not kids being forced into the bourgeoisie that should concern us, but kids being exposed to stuff that is grossly age inappropriate, stuff like Drag Queen Story Time.

Now I have no problem with drag acts or acts that use drag as part of a performance, I grew up with performers like Danny La Rue and Les Dawson on the television who regularly used cross dressing as an entertainment device. But, and this is really important, there’s a big difference between these two entertainers and the disgraceful phenomenon of Drag Queen Story Time. La Rue and Dawson were quite plainly entertainers being paid to entertain, but in my view the use of drag queens in primary schools is not entertainment but instead a form of grooming. It is something that should have no place in our schools.

Drag Queen Story Time (DQST) is being used by left wing educationalists not to ‘increase tolerance’ as these educationalists say, but to push on children the false idea that gender is a spectrum and mutable. Gender is not a spectrum and is not mutable, we can prove this scientifically We are either male or female and there’s no way to fully change from one to the other. Yes of course surgery and hormones can create the simulacrum of the opposite sex, but it’s not a true transition at the molecular and cellular level. A skeleton of a trans woman for example will not have typically female features and would be identifiable by a pathologist or an archeologist as male. I see no real good that can come of teaching children the falsehood that it is possible to either change ones gender or that gender is a spectrum.

Drag Queen Story Time is not something that is coming into our schools because of any sort of organic demand for such stuff coming from parents, it’s being imposed on our schools and on our children by the Left. When I take my child to school the other parents outside the school gates are not clamoring for drag acts to be brought in, they just want their children taught basic skills, the sort of skills that are vital if the child is to have a successful life path. Drag Queen Story Time is an imposition and not just an unwelcome one, but an imposition that is going to damage the children who are exposed to it. Drag can be fun, but it is an adult and adults only medium and not for children. I had the privilige of seeing on stage some of the greats of British drag acts earlier in my life. I saw Regina Fong, Dockard Doris, Adrella and more before these performers passed away. But although I laughed at the shows and at the smut that the shows contained, there is no way on earth would I take a child to one of these drag shows. To do so would be something that would be monstrously age inappropriate.

The sort of performers that are being brought into schools are not the modern day equivalent of the pantomime dame or a La Rue or a Dawson. That would be inappropriate enough bearing in mind the age of the potential audience, but at least these are or were generally accepted as family entertainers whose style of performance emerged from the music hall phenomenon that dominated British public entertainment in the latter part of the 19th century and early part of the 20th century. There is at least a credible case to be made that panto dames, La Rue and Dawson come from mainstream British culture. This is not the case when it comes to the performers who the left are foisting onto schools often in the teeth of objections from parents. Performers such as ‘FlowJob’ who has performed at a school in Paisley, Scotland and one of the performers at a school in Bristol all seem to come from very adult performance environments, ones that are not suitable to be brought into schools. FlowJob for example has allegedly quite graphic sexual language and images on their adult performance publicity and the performer who came to a Bristol school describes themselves in their publicity as ‘Bristol’s biggest slag’. There is a worrying amount of crossover between the adult performances and the performances that are done for children and no real attempt seems to have been made to separate the two, as would be the case of a regular actor who may play adult themed roles on the stage or on film and who then goes on to do different types of performances for children.

But what of the parents who object to this use of drag performers to groom children into believing that gender is fluid and other similar anti-science guff and which may be sexualising them way before their time? The answer is simple. The schools who promote this crap and the leftist politicians who support it will just scream ‘shut up you bigot’ at parents who have very real and credible objections to stuff like DQST. In the case of the Paisley incident, the appalling left winger Mhari Black of the Scottish National Party just smeared the objecting parents as ‘homophobes’ in a similar way to other leftists smear those worried about excessive levels of inappropriate immigration as ‘racist’. The immediate reaction of these leftists is to reach for the ‘snarl’ word and for the smear. In Bristol the head teacher at one school that had DQST basically told the parents to put up and shut up and that if they objected that much then they could take their child out of school for the day under the category of unauthorised absence. Taking the unauthorised absence route is not something that many parents would feel comfortable with as by doing so it not only gives the school the ability to punish the parent through the courts for doing so but also can invite unwanted attention from other agencies such as Children’s Services, which is another entity that is all too often dominated by leftist thinking.

Now I have no objection to those in their mid teens being told of the existence of Lesbian, Gay or Bisexual people nor young people of this age being told that in a decent society such individuals should be treated equally. This is because there’s no way on earth that I would like to see a return to the days of the 1970’s when camp boys and butch girls were regularly beaten up or ostracised by their peers in schools. However DQST goes far far beyond merely informing those on the brink of adulthood about those who live differently, it is naked and blatant indoctrination of very young children and it needs to be stopped by parents working together. Parents need to work together so that individual objectors to this indoctrination cannot be picked off one by one by threats and intimidation by the school or by Children’s Services.

DQST is quite plainly a step too far. It’s a step too far not just for social conservatives but also for those such myself who consider ourselves to be relatively liberal about matters of sexuality. Maybe it’s time to rewrite or spoof the famous song ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ to read: ‘Hey! Drag Queen! Leave OUR kids alone’.

  1. Mermaids is another group worming their way into primary schools to pervert the children.

If they’re already active in your children’s or grandchildren’s schools, beware: there will also be an infestation of Common Purpose indoctrinated staff and teachers.

These people are not just a circus act, but seriously damaging and giving confusing signals to young minds.
