A bit of quick thinking by a teacher probably prevented an attack, possibly a jihad attack, on a bus full of schoolchildren in New York recently. The bus, which makes regular stops had paused so that the driver could speak to a parent of one of the children. A saloon car pulled up behind the bus, a man got out brandishing a knife and tried to enter the bus.

According to eyewitnesses the man was jamming the knife in the doors of the bus trying to get them open whilst ‘screaming in a foreign language’ that is at this moment not identified but is, in my view likely to be Arabic or some other language common in the Islamic world. I doubt that if the language had been Spanish the language would have been unidentified as the teacher may well have been familiar with in a city with a lot of Spanish speakers. This leads me to suspect that this language may well have been Arabic and that this attack may well have been jihad.

A Jewish communal publication called ColLive (h/t ROP) is covering this case but few other publications seem to have picked this up.

The teacher said the man approached them was furious and shouting in a language unfamiliar to her. She froze in fright when she saw him grab a small knife from his car.

“When I saw the knife, I began shouting to the bus driver to keep moving,” she said. “The man began jamming the knife at the doors of the bus, banging on the doors and trying to open them. Thank G-d the doors were closed.”

In the safety of the closed bus, the teacher dialed 911. When the attacker saw her calling, he ran into a building on the block, she says.

What should tell us a great deal about the mess that the New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has made of the city is the fact that Shomrim, a sort of Jewish Neighbourhood Watch group were on the scene of the attack almost immediately yet regular police didn’t turn up for half an hour. This is because the NY police department is overstretched with all the additional crime that de Blasio’s policies have brought to both Jewish and non-Jewish areas of New York alike.

ColLive went on to say that following this incident parents are frightened about sending their children to school and Jews have been advised by police to stay indoors for safety during the recent Labour Day public holiday.

I dread to think what might have happened had this assailant been successful in getting access to the bus and its passengers. We could have been looking at an awful lot of dead children if the teacher had not been so quick witted and justifiably suspicious about the man in the car behind.

On a balance of probabilities basis, I’m going to call this as a jihad attack. Everything seems to point that way. This call is based on the choice of target, those who are identifiably Jewish, the location, an area with a large Jewish population, the weapon of choice, the nature of the attack and the fact that the assailant may well have been shouting some variant of the Islamic war cry ‘Allah hu Akbar’. After all let’s face it, this bastard with the knife is unlikely to be a Methodist is he?

I thank the Eternal One that this jihad attack was unsuccessful. There’s no indication that the authorities have apprehended this knife wielding savage but under de Blasio I’m not entirely sure that he would be given any sort of appropriate punishment anyway.

This is the sort of story that I believe should be rubbed in the faces of the Islamopandering, meshuganah (crazy) Jewish Left. This was an attack that is more than likely to have been motivated by Islam, yet still the small but vociferous minority of politically well connected Jewish Leftists will insist on claiming that Jews and Muslims are ‘spiritual cousins’ and that Islam is a religion of peace and not at all a threat to Jews and others. It’s time we stopped listening to this sort of talk whether in synagogues and in communal organisations and call out and criticise those on the Jewish Left who have slandered the Holy Name by aligning with our and the wider societies enemies.
