Political correctness kills.

Over at Breitbart the author James Delingpole is highlighting how Britain’s culture of rampant and debilitating political correctness played a part in the Manchester Arena bombing which killed 22 people, mostly young people when a Muslim from a ‘refugee’ family detonated a suicide bomb after an Ariana Grande concert. Mr Delingpole appears to be bang on with his assessment as several opportunities to stop the self exploding Islamic savage Salman Abedi were missed or ignored.

Mr Delingpole said that

Here is one of the more damning revelations:

A witness, Julie Merchant, approached BTP [British Transport Police] officer Jessica Bullough, around 32 minutes before the deadly bombing, to point out Salman Abedi.

Paul Greaney QC said Ms Merchant cannot recall the details of the conversation with the officer but that it was “to do with praying and political correctness”.

The officer cannot remember the conversation taking place, the hearing was told.

Although the officer cannot recall the conversation I can well imagine what sort of conversation it was. It was probably heavily laced with warnings to the witness about not being ‘Islamophobic’ and exhortation to not treat a sweating Muslim savage with an equally sweating explosive backpack as nothing to be worried about.

As Mr Delingpole pointed out, the Islamic savage’s success in murdering Britons in their droves at Manchester was not only down to the inertia and political correctness of the police. Showsec, one of the big organisations that are contracted to do security for big concerts and other events also seem to have failed badly here.

Mr Delingpole added:

Paul Greaney QC, counsel to the inquest, said a witness had spoken to the suspicious person, asking him ‘What have you got in your rucksack?’ but received no reply.

Mr Greaney added: ‘[Witness] A then said, ”It doesn’t look very good you know, you with a bag in a place like this. What are you doing?”

The man replied: ‘I’m waiting for somebody, mate. Have you got the time? What time is it?’

Witness A then spoke to Mohammed Agha, employed by venue security firm Showsec, but said he was ‘fobbed off.’

Mohammed Agha then spoke to fellow Showsec employee Kyle Lawler about the suspicious man and what they should do, the inquiry heard.

Mr Lawler is then said to have tried to radio his security control but could not get through. He then spotted the man get up and start walking towards the arena entrance.

His statement continued: ‘I just froze and did not get anything out on the radio. I knew at that point it was too late.’

Of course it was too late. By the time that the security staff and the police had realised that they had a potential exploding Islamic savage problem on their hands and had managed to have common sense claw its way through the brain fog of political correctness, what happened was by then almost inevitable. If this Islamic savage had been apprehended when he was first noticed to be acting suspiciously by uttering Islamic prayers whilst carrying an overlarge backpack then 22 lives may have been saved.

There also appears to have been some degree of ‘arse covering’ by Showsec employees over the Manchester Arena attack. According to the Brietbart report, the counsel for the inquest noted that there were ‘discrepancies’ and ‘gaps’ between the accounts given by Showsec staff and the CCTV record of the events of the evening. These discrepancies must be looked into by the inquest and any other inquiry into the Manchester Arena bombing.

If I was someone who had lost a loved one in the Manchester Arena jihad attack I’d be seriously pissed off and angry right now at how despite people reporting their suspicions about the terrorist, nobody with any sort of security authority did anything meaningful to stop it. The police seem to have failed those who have died by allegedly being hidebound by political correctness and not seeming to understand what those in places like Israel understand that a dodgy looking Muslim with an equally dodgy looking backpack is a potential threat. We pay these uniformed bastards to protect us from the likes of Salman Abedi but on this occasion their actions assisted this terrorist and did nothing to protect those innocent people attending a concert. What’s the point of having anti terror publicity campaigns that exhort the public to say something if they see something odd or suspicious if the police are going to ignore the information and private security staff are going to ‘fob off’ those with genuine concerns?

Political correctness kills and on this occasion it has killed 22 people who only wanted to go out and have a good time at a concert. Disgraceful, utterly and completely disgraceful.

  1. This is terrible, tragic and a hideous indictment of the UK, but I do not blame the Police or Showsec.
When the least whiff of racism (or any other “-ism”) or islamophobia (or other “-phobia”) is now a job threatening, indeed ending, matter – you will recall the trouble Dawn Butler made for the Police that stopped her and the grovelling apology made by the Met, the case of he man who flew the “All lives matter” banner over a footie ground and was sacked for doing so – then I understand the reluctance of Showsec, the front line Police, etc. to do anything unless absolutely certain that their actions cannot be construed by the deranged as being the result of an “-ism” or “-phobia”.

When elements of society hamstring those tasked with keeping us safe by viewing all their actions against a whole raft of “protected characteristics” etc. with the deliberate aim of “revealing” bias we can hardly complain when those so tasked tread very warily indeed.
