Quote of the Day 28th June 2021 – On the myth of ‘systemic racism’.

Saw an excellent comment over at Ambush Predator’s place that fully deserves to be highlighted as a quote of the day at this place. In a comment regarding a ludicrous and weak claim of ‘racism’ over the issue of a cycle delivery rider stopped for riding on the pavement, the commenter Stonyground said of the issue of racism in the UK:

I’m watching some of the tennis today. So, you know how the British like to root for the underdog? There have been a couple of matches today one in the men’s and one in the ladies’ tennis where there has been an upset and one of the top players has gone out to a lesser player. The lesser player has, in both cases had noisy support from the audience. What is confusing me is that in both cases the underdog was black and the British are all horribly racist, so I’ve been told. So what the hell is going on?

Spot on there. Most Britons don’t give a toss about a person’s colour, what we care about is are they a tryer, do they fight for what they are trying to achieve in things like sport or business and are they decent individuals. Comments like this make me even more convinced that the wild claims that Britain is a nation chock full of systemic racism are little more than a figment of the imagination of far left academics.

The problem is you just DON’T UNDERSTAND RACISM.
The British are HORRIBLY, IRREDEMIABLY, UTTERLY RACIST.
They aren’t cheering the BIPOC players because they don’t care about their skin colour, they are cheering because the white audience KNOWS it IS racist and are attempting to COMPENSATE.
What you are witnessing is a pathetic attempt by these genetic racists (and yes according to some critical race theory exponents White people ARE GENETICALLY racist, thus nothing they do or say can irradicate their racism) to compensate for their toxic, supremacist, evil dyed-in-the-wool racism.
They are trying to show by this superficial (one might say skin deep) support of the “lesser … underdog” that they are not racist, but it’s a pathetic and easily seen through attempt to disguise their real feelings.
As evidence of this consider your own words “lesser … underdog” again. Just regarding a BIPOC person as “lesser” and “under” is PROOF that YOU’RE A RACIST and as for calling them “dogs” – well I’m not even going there!!!!!!
And that is the problem with all the specious attempts of racist whites (i.e. all whites of course) to show that they aren’t racist, THE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS OUT!
    [Sarc / irony off]

Thank you for that little endorsement. The thing is, there are racist white people, of course there are, but they are a tiny minority. Another point, back in the 1980s I was in a Karate squad. We only had one black lad in our team. The jokes about colour went back and forth both ways. There was absolutely no malice there but I suspect that our banter would be classed as rabidly racist nowadays. At the actual competitions there was a real mix of different races and I never encountered any hint of racism, people were admired for their ability in the sport.

I know that Jon MC is taking the piss but it appears that it has got to the point where the race baiters actually think like that. You are hiding your obvious racism by not being racist.

No problem with the endorsement it’s well deserved. There are racists out there but they are not all White. For example there is an awful lot of animosity as well as good natured piss taking that goes on between those of African and West Indian heritage. Those of us who try to follow MLK’s ideas of not judging people by the colour of their skin are becoming increasingly disgusted at being called ‘racist’ by those who are themselves race baiters by claiming that not seeing a person’s colour is in some way racist. You are right the race baiters do indeed think like Jon’s parody.

Yes I was “taking the piss”, but with a serious point.
Like you I think the race baiters and those that actually believe the critical race theory bullsh*t actually do think (something) like that.
It’s a version of the “heads I win, tails you lose” system wherein no matter what the evidence it is interpreted to fit the narrative, here systemic racism.
The point being that anything can be interpreted according to a narrative (or set view), racism, Islamophobia etc. you try hard enough.

Jon, that’s great pisstaking and sarcasm. Well done. You are correct those who promote twisted ideologies do indeed think like that. Whether it be the race baiters, the wilder shores of the trans cult, the Islamophobia whiners, they all interpret stuff through the prism of their ideology.

  4. They don’t feel justified if they can’t manufacture ‘evidence’ supportive of their paranoia.

    Nobody likes me
    Everybody hates me
    Guess I’ll go eat worms…

There are quite a few identity politics groups that do that. Some even get taxpayers money to do it.

Back to the tennis. Serena Williams has just retired hurt and has gone off to a huge ovation.

    • Fahrenheit211 | June 30, 2021 at 7:42 pm |

She’s been a great talent in women’s tennis. I’m glad that even though she retired with an injury from the game, she got the ovation that she deserved.
