The TV presenter and farmer Jeremy Clarkson has, according to the Guido Fawkes site, ruffled the feathers of Britain’s snowflakes, perma-offended and Leftists with his rant about the Duchess of Sussex. In an article for the Sun newspaper he said that he loathed the Duchess, as many Britons now do, and wanted to see her face excrement slinging by members of the public.

Whilst Mr Clarkson’s comments are quite pungent and not something I would have written, there’s no way on earth do I believe that Mr Clarkson or his article warrant the sort of wailing and rending of garments that the political and media classes have been involved in. Mr Clarkson’s fantasy humiliation of the Duchess is not as rough as what really happened in the past, such as what happened to Jane Shore a mistress of King Edward IV, after the king’s death. Her enemies who failed to make a false charge of witchcraft stick, instead got her convicted of ‘harlotry’ and she was forced as punishment to walk through London barefooted and in her underwear.

If find it quite instructive that the British Left and the various snowflakes have decided to latch onto this story and thereby give it much more publicity than it otherwise would have had, rather than highlight some of the many and varied real problems that Britain has. The Left could have talked about pay and working conditions provided by some of Britain’s less scrupulous non-unionised employers or women’s rights or the piss poor state of Britain’s energy security. Sadly the Left do not want to touch such subjects and instead wail and whine about stuff like the Clarkson furore, which to be quite frank is a bit of a nothingburger.

One of those snowflake leftists who have got on their high horse about Mr Clarkson’s comments about a woman who is being increasingly referred to as Megan Whingealot, is a guy called David Spry. This left leaning, anti-conservative individual decided that what should happen to Jeremy Clarkson is that he should be arrested for ‘hate speech’. Mr Spry obviously assumed that Mr Clarkson’s attack on the Duchess was based on race, something that is clearly and obviously not the case. I agree that the Duchess is increasingly disliked in Britain but that dislike has nothing to do with the Duchess’s race and everything to do with the way that the Duchess has conducted herself in public along with the perceived ‘me, me, me’ aspect of her personality.

However on this occasion the police, in this case West Mercia Police, according to one of the BTL commentators on the Guido piece, decided that Mr Spry’s complaint was completely groundless and told him so in a letter that is reproduced below.

If the letter is reproduced accurately then it seems that Mr Spry’s rant to the police has fallen on deaf ears and for the first time in absolutely ages we have a police force which has decided to stand up to an identity politics whiner. It’s rare these days that I will praise one of Britain’s police forces but on this occasion I find myself having to say ‘well done’ to West Mercia Police for telling this whiner where to get off.
