A trans story that gets more and more murky.

A short while ago this blog published a story about a man posing as a woman who kicked off at a hotel worker in Sheffield who insisted that this man in a dress used unisex swimming changing facilities rather than the women’s ones that he wanted to use. The particular transgender lunatic (Troon) in question, who calls himself Anne Coombes, took to social media after this incident to whine and complain that his delusions of being a woman was not entertained by the hotel worker who refused him access and that the worker should be subjected to re-education.

However it turns out that there is more to this story and about this particular Troon that meets the eye. According to a report in the Daily Mail Mr Coombes has been involved in trans related controversy before related to changing facilities. The Mail said that Mr Coombes was the cause of a rule change by the nation’s swimming governing body British Swimming.

At a swimming event where Mr Coombes was volunteering as a helper, he was the subject of complaints from teenage girls and their parents after he was observed using the women’s changing room at a swimming venue as a ‘short cut’ to get to wherever he was trying to get to. The girls and their parents were so upset and felt so uncomfortable about the presence of this man in a dress in the women’s changing room that they put in complaints to British Swimming. As a result of the complaints British Swimming instituted new rules that stated that no official or volunteer was to use the changing rooms as a cut through.

The Daily Mail said:

One parents, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Telegraph: ‘My daughter was in the changing rooms when this person walked through. And then came back again to use the toilets.

‘She came and told me. How intimidating must it be to be a girl, changing in a women’s space, when this happens? And these girls feel that they can’t complain in case they get labelled as transphobic.’

The Mail said that they contacted British Swimming and the organisation confirmed that Mr Coombes had used the female dressing room as a short cut in the venue. British Swimming also confirmed that the rules had been changed so that using changing rooms as a short cut was now forbidden. British Swimming also said that increased security measures had been put in place for changing rooms and that all those on British Swimming’s mailing list had been told that changing rooms were for changing only. Basically this Troon’s behaviour was so offensive and concerning that his actions forced a rule change in Britain’s competitive swimming establishment. Swimmers and their parents complained to British Swimming despite genuine fears by swimmers and their families that they would be subjected to bogus claims of ‘transphobia’ for speaking up so great was the offence caused by Mr Coombes hanging around female changing rooms.

There’s a lot to be concerned about when it comes to Mr Coombes’s behaviour and attitude. In particular we should be concerned about his apparent fetish for entering women’s changing rooms and his belief that society should normalise the idea that men in dresses should be allowed in women’s changing facilities.

The Mail added:

The 65-year-old, who is extremely active on social media, has previously spoken about her ‘determination’ to use female changing rooms in the past.

In a 2021 blog post she wrote: ‘I don’t actually want to upset anyone, but I am determined that I am going to use the female changing rooms. I am not going to be shunted off to a separate facility such as a disabled changing room.

‘As I see it, the problem with that solution is that once it is taken, not only are you identified as being different but it will inevitably become permanent.’

If Mr Coombes cared about upsetting people then he would accept that fact that no matter how he presents himself and no matter how he dresses, he’s still a male and therefore should not be in female only spaces, especially spaces where women and girls undress. If he can’t see that he and other similar individuals are actually different and that using unisex facilities is probably the best way to protect the dignity and safety of females, then he obviously does not care one jot for the women and girls who are discomforted by his, quite obviously male, presence.

Mr Coombes wants it appears to conquer women’s spaces and make them into spaces that are no longer sex segregated. He wants women to validate his delusion that he has changed sex by allowing him into women’s facilities and he wants that despite it causing immense amounts of discomfort to the women using the spaces that he wants to be allowed to barge into. That looks to me as if it is behaviour that is both narcissistic and self-centred in the extreme and also abusive for the women who will be forced to ‘tolerate’ on pain of iffy ‘transphobia’ claims, the unwanted presence of this man in a dress.

  1. It only gets murky because our largely right media and some bloggers are obsessed with trans people as a political issue, and never mind apparently their individual stories and life experiences.

The tide may well turning against them, there were posts in a Sheffield FB group for instance with young women not particularly leftist or trans rights activists saying they disliked the amount of social media hostility towards Anne Coombes and that they did not want this level of intolerance to represent their communities.

I think you may be somewhat incorrect about what is driving the pushback against gender identity ideology. Although there are those on the centre right and right who are now becoming involved in the campaign the pushback started and is to a large extent driven by Radfems a group who it would be very very difficult to describe as ‘right’ in any political sense. There were I believe criticisms coming from radfems of the concept of transsexualism right back in the late 1970’s.

Re the Sheffield part of your comment: I’ve little doubt that there are some young women who have, for whatever reason, bought into the TWAW idea, especially if this ideology has been pushed on them in school and college and have fallen into the superficial ‘be kind’ culture. They haven’t yet thought about why Coombes is being criticised or the previous incident regarding using the swimming pool changing rooms as a short cut or the effect of having a man in the ladies area on other women. The greater number of women placed in fear is in my view more important than the feelings of one TV/TS. It is not ‘intolerance’ to want safety for women and children and maybe some in this group are forgetting that.

  2. *right leaning

  3. Yes, but please stop any BS about this being a legitimate womens’ rights movement. There are a lot of women who are trans inclusive and our voices are not being heard. Ok, less than half the population but there are several million of us.

I find that I cannot see any movement that protects women’s dignity, women’s sporting opportunities, the right of women to be separate from men if they so choose and protects women’s safety as anything other than a women’s rights movement.

Yes of course there are women who are trans-supportive but they do not speak for all women just as I as an individual do not speak for all men although these pro-trans women are entitled to voice their opinion. But this opinion of pro-trans women is not suppressed, in fact its damned loud and certainly not hidden. In some cases there have been natal women involved in the world and cult of trans that have done some unspeakably horrific things, such as removing the healthy breasts of mentally disturbed young women. I look at the Anglosphere, which is the centre of the cult of trans, and I see and hear lots of pro-trans women and I also see and hear them trying to suppress their opponents. Women in the UK make up roughly 50 of the population and if being pro-trans was such a vote winner then why is Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party backtracking on their pro-trans statements from such a short time ago?

Genuine transsexuals, of a sort I have sympathy for, are a miniscule number of people, who because of an internal distress that has not been cured by any other means, submit themselves to the modern day equivalent of lobotomy or Insulin shock treatment or some other medical horror from the past. The problem is that there are a lot more people calling themselves ‘trans’ these days and a lot of these come over as if they’ve got more than a few psych problems and it is this type rather than the tiny number of genuine all the way transsexuals that is being supported by the gender identity cult.
