I’ve been following the X account of Alistair Hilton ( @London_W4 ) for quite a while now. I follow him mostly because I’m an ex-Photographer and I very much admire his work. Also as I had a period where I used to work for customers who were in the Richmond/Twickenham/ Chiswick area I like to see some of the areas where I used to work and socialise in. I also like Mr Hilton because like me he recognises the decline in the quality of life in Britain and speaks about it.
He’s apparently a familiar face around riverside pubs in Chiswick and a few days back alighted on the scene outside one of his favourite pubs. Apparently the outside seating, that Mr Hilton claimed had been there for decades had been taken away. Mr Hilton investigated the removal of the seating and was informed that a series of complaints from a killjoy Green councillor has resulted in the seating being removed.
On the 1st of July Mr Hilton said on X (sources and links at the end of this article)
“This is the City Barge pub in Chiswick right now. What do you notice? It’s 3pm and they’re open. It’s a sunny day. Yes, that’s right; they have had to remove all of the tables and chairs outside. They have had to destroy their own business. Why? Because Rick Rowe, a Green Party councillor on Hounslow council, who lives very, very, very close to this pub and complains about it almost daily, has banned all three pubs here on strand on the Green Chiswick, from having outside tables. I can only assume he hates pubs, hates business and hates the British way of life. This would usually be buzzing with people enjoying their afternoon. However, they’re the wrong sort of people for Rick.”
Mr Hilton’s claim about the historical nature of the seating was backed up by a local Conservative councillor Linden Grigg who in an article for the Hounslow Herald local newspaper said:
“Just down the road, at one of the most special spots in Chiswick, the Bulls Head, Bell and Crown, and City Barge came under attack from their Green councillor who decided to provoke the council’s Enforcement team into removing the pubs’ outdoor seating. It’s rightly sparked outrage in the Chiswick community. These Thames-side seats have been there for as long as anyone can remember, and help the pubs do a roaring trade in the nice weather. This stretch is one of the most idyllic spots for a drink in London, ruined by a Green councillor who seems to take joy in waging war on Chiswick’s unique character.”
Mr Hilton has not allegedly not harassed the councillor but has merely pointed out the petty nastiness of the councillor for acting in the manner that he has over the issue of riverside seating. However things took a sudden nasty turn.
Mr Hilton alleges that Mr Rowe’s was so enraged by the publicity that had blown up over Mr Rowe’s petty act of banning outside seating at the riverside pubs that he set the Metropolitan Police onto him. In the video below you can see police officers having a go at Mr Hilton and attempting to intimidate him over the issue of alleged harassment of the petty minded councillor.
I think that Mr Hilton gave as good as he got from the Met’s ‘finest’ intimidators. What got me is that the Met officers were trying to get Mr Hilton to incriminate himself by insinuating that he was the organiser of a protest at the councillors house, something that might be an arrestable offence.
For the record, these officers police (and I mean that lightly) a city that has become a sexual predator hell hole with one rape reported every hour. The Met is also likely to be embroiled in the Rape Gang scandal that might not have been tackled properly by the Met and which is likely soon to burst out into the public’s view just as the Rotherham and Rochdale ones have. Many may think that dealing with the monstrous crimes that London is afflicted with might be a better use of police resources than acting as a Green councillor’s bully boys.
Then things took an even more bizarre turn when the councillor in question came into a pub where Mr Hilton was. Mr Hilton said:
“Rick Rowe just came to the pub I was in with his boyfriend, knowing I was there, because he’d sent the police to intimidate me earlier. His boyfriend filmed me half the evening. Rick tried to grab my phone twice. It’s on film. He also said confidential information about me that the police had told him. I’m very happy to prosecute him and the police.”
If this statement is correct then it’s appalling behaviour from Mr Rowe, his boyfriend and the police. I very much hope that Mr Hilton does take this matter to Law in some form.
Mr Hilton it needs to be said has a couple of damned good reasons for being hostile to the Met Police. He said that when his daughter’s houseboat had its window smashed the Met made every excuse not to do anything about it. They basically fobbed Mr Hilton and his daughter off with bollocks excuses as to why they could do sod all. I think going through that experience and having to experience daily the declining social fabric of today’s London would indeed give someone a cynical view of how London is policed.
This case is a microcosm of Britain today. There’s ordinary Britons doing what they’ve done for decades which in this case is sitting outside a riverside pub, not causing trouble but just socialising and patronising establishments that have been there for centuries and which have been hit extremely hard by Government policies. Then the members of the Lanyard Classes turn up and screw it over and ruin what Britons over decades and centuries have built.
That’s Britain today all over that is. Arrogant public ‘servants’ crapping on Britons for just doing what they’ve always done. But it’s not just this situation where we see this. We see it in all sorts of ways every damned day. We see it in cases like this and with police putting undue restrictions on things like Remembrance Parades or councils forbidding residents from flying their national flag as happened recently in Bristol. We do not despise the Lanyard Classes and what they’ve done to us nearly enough. I applaud Mr Hilton for standing up against the petty hatred that one councillor has for a particular pub as he has done. I’m also extremely pleased to see the amount of public support that Mr Hilton is getting for his stand against this petty minded councillor. As others have said Mr Rowe and these Met officers are about to experience The Streisand Effect’. Let’s hope that at the next election time this effect has the outcome that Mr Hilton and others should want and that is Rick Rowe and his petty obsessions are consigned to the rubbish bin.
