Czech Mates

A defence minister in the government of the Czech Republic tells it like it is about the United Nations.

From the Jerusalem Post

Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová, expressing outrage at a United Nations General Assembly resolution calling for Israel to cease its operations in the Gaza Strip, called for the Czech Republic to withdraw from the UN on Saturday.

“I know that today is an important day for [the Czech Republic] and we want to celebrate our 105th anniversary. But this simply cannot be time-barred, forgive me. Exactly three weeks ago, Hamas murdered more than 1,400 Israelis, which is more victims per their population than the militant Islamist organization al-Qaeda murdered on 9/11/2001 in the USA. And only 14 countries, including ours, stood up against the unprecedented terrorist attack committed by Hamas terrorists, clearly and comprehensible!

“I am ashamed of the UN. In my opinion – the Czech Republic has nothing to expect in an organization that supports terrorists and does not respect the basic right to self-defense. Let’s get out.
Difficult to disagree with Jana Černochová on the subject of the UN. It’s a failed organisation stuffed with corruption, abusers and some of the most egregious human rights abusing nations on the planet.  It’s unfit for purpose just as the League of Nations was. It is good for Israel and other civilised nations to have mates like the Czechs.

  1. Quite.
But I hope they don’t, at least unless all the West and allies withdraw, cut off all funding to the UN and its multitude of organisations.
the UN is dominated by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, so individual Countries withdrawing would only strengthen their grip and further entrench anti-Semitism in the UN.

I agree there. However this is a first step and a big one to see a Western nation even think of this course of action. I think that eventually the course of events will see Western nations recognise the need to form their own bloc and move away from the UN.
