The Overton Window is shifting in women’s direction on the issue of Trans.

The last 10-15 years have been a time when the Western world has suffered from a form of societal madness. Governments, charities, local councils in the UK, media outlets, some religious groups, schools, healthcare all went along with the instructions given to them by those who are mad. They all parroted the statements given to them by the mad and treated these statements as truth. These organisations often punished harshly those who pointed out that the delusions of the mad were just that, delusions. People lost jobs, partners, friends, children, income and reputation merely for pointing out that following the instructions of the mad had bad outcomes.

So what might you ask was this madness? That madness is the Cult of Trans. For over a decade and a half and more we’ve all been told to we are ‘not nice’ if we refuse to go along with the lie that a man can become a woman and a woman can become a man and that narcissistic self claimed identities such as ‘non-binary’ are something real and well evidenced.

That time is starting to end. But it is not ending without cost. Women have been robbed of spaces, sports and jobs either by being displaced by men claiming to be ‘Trans’, having their spaces colonised by these men or losing jobs because they would not go along with the lies of both the members of the trans cult and those in authority who have gone along with the trans madness. Women have been physically attacked by men who believe that putting on a dress gives them access to female spaces and those women who do speak up face violence and violent rhetoric when they do so.

Children have also borne the cost of the Trans madness. Who knows how many thousands of children from Britain, the USA, Australia and right across the West have had their lives ruined by the Cult of Trans. Autistic children and children who may well be LGB when they grow up have been brainwashed by healthcare systems and the extremely well resourced trans political and media ecosphere into believing they were born in the ‘wrong’ body. Children whose implanted delusion should not have been listened to have been and that has often had terrible terrible outcomes for them. There are now a large cohort of young people who should have been left alone to grow and learn naturally who have been mutilated, drugged, sterilised and psychologically damaged by the actions of the Cult of Trans and its votaries.

We should pause before forgiving the Trans movement because of the damage that they’ve done to society and to individuals. It’s difficult to forgive those who used the power of the state and its agencies to push an ideology on children that has hurt them both physically and psychologically and to rob women of their spaces and dignity. The Trans movement could have campaigned for third spaces specifically for them and kept away from children or not inveigled themselves into every nook and cranny of society and governance. But they didn’t. The Trans movement didn’t care about women and their need for their own spaces or children who should have been left to grow up naturally or LGB communities that are firmly based on the reality of biological sex. This tells me that Trans is not a proper equal rights movement it wants to take what others have built and rights that others have fought for rather than make a space for themselves. The more I look at the Cult of Trans the more I see it as a men’s rights movement but one made up of the worst sorts of men. I find it difficult to forgive the Trans movement for what it has done.

But the war against the unreality and nastiness of the Trans movement is being won and it is being won mostly by women but with the assistance of some decent men. Slowly those who have been brainwashed by the Cult of Trans are starting to realise that they’ve been played by a pretty nasty set of individuals and an even nastier ideology. There’s going to be setbacks both legally and politically in the fight against this cult but as the American women’s rights advocate and feminist librarian Jennifer Gingrich ‘the Overton Window has shifted in women’s favour at last’. Ms Gingrich is in my view correct. It would have been impossible in 2015 for example in the madness of the scattergun ‘be kind’ culture in the West for women critical of the gender identity or trans movements to get anything like the support they are getting today.

In the context of more and more sports governing bodies to make sport fair again by excluding from women’s sports those who are not and who have never been women Ms Gingrich said:

Every time another big sports organization implements sex testing in the women’s category, we’re going to have to deal with a big rush of hysteria & abuse from TRAs and their allies. None of it matters. The Overton Window has shifted in women’s favor at last. We’re going to win.”

Ms Gingrich is in my view correct there. The trans activists will scream and shout and maybe do random acts of political violence every time that fairness between the sexes gets back on the agenda, but they’ve lost much of the support that they once might have had among the general public. There are now more women and men who are willing to say that biology is the guiding principle in life and that men and women require spaces and sports that are separated by biological sex. I’d go so far as to say that the ‘woman on the Clapham Omnibus’ that legal fictional reasonable everywoman, in Britain at least, is more likely than they once might have been to be a Terf or at least aligned with Terfs in some way.

The war against this cult is not completely won. The conflict can not yet be confined to the history books. In Britain, despite it’s reputation of being ‘Terf Island’ there are still numerous instances of trans rights activists and their ideology calling the shots. That ideology is in education, the National Health Service (NHS), education, children’s services, politics both local and national, policing etc. It’s going to take much effort to remove this ideology from these entities but the public in Britain seem to be increasingly on the side of removing trans ideology from Britain’s politics, administration and public services. We now have a situation where what British cynics call ‘the Lanyard Class’ of public sector workers hold views on the issue of Trans that are increasingly divorced from the views of this ideology that are held by the British people. This is an unsustainable split in viewpoint in my view and a source of political conflict down the line. This is a conflict that the Terfs and their allies must win because we’ve seen the monstrous horrors that have been done to women and children when the Terfs don’t win.

The mood is shifting away from taking the claims of trans activists at face value and society is going to be much healthier because of that.
