Hmmm! I wonder. Who or what group might be behind a very recently busted terror plot to target Jewish communities in Manchester. Could it be the Anglicans, nope, could it be the Hindus, nope, could it even be the Methodists, I doubt it. Barring this having the involvement of some of our mentalist Leftists the most likely candidates for those arrested for this now thankfully busted terror plot are liable to be Muslims.

“One year after a deadly Yom Kippur attack on the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in Manchester in the United Kingdom, police arrested two men suspected of planning a terror attack targeting the Manchester Jewish community.

The men, both in their 20s, were arrested on Newton Street on Sunday “on suspicion of offenses under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000,” according to the Metropolitan Police. “The investigation relates to a suspected terrorist plot to target the Jewish community in the Manchester area.”

Vicki Evans, deputy assistant commissioner and senior national coordinator for counter terrorism policing, stated that “this has been a long-running proactive investigation which has led to the disruption of what we believe to be a plot to target the Jewish community in the Manchester area.”

“We are acutely aware this news will cause further concern to the Jewish community, as well as the wider public, especially given the significant High Holiday period,” Evans stated. “I want to reassure them we are working incredibly closely with colleagues in Greater Manchester Police and partners to ensure we’re doing everything we can to keep them and the wider public safe.” “

At present there are no names of those arrested being released which is normal for the UK as suspects are not normally identified until they have been charged. When they are charged we will get a definitive investigation as to what they are named as and therefore what their motivations might have been. However bearing in mind that the last murderous attack on Manchester’s Jews was carried out by a Muslim and the Golders Green knife attack and the Golders Green arson attack were also carried out or allegedly carried out by Muslims, the chances are this is also an Islam related terror plot.

It sounds from what information has ben released that this investigation has been led by Metropolitan Police counter terror officers rather than the local force in Greater Manchester. This means that specialist counter terror staff have been in charge of the investigation. As often is the case with investigations like this I very much doubt that the pair arrested are the only ones involved and it’s quite possible that others might be arrested in the next few days or weeks. The timing of the arrests is interesting and it makes me wonder how far along the police let the plotters get before they pounced. Well done to the Met here.
