‘I’m Spartacus’ councillor targeted by SJW’s and Muslim whiners

Councillor Ken Pollock of Worcestershire who is coming under fire from Muslim whiners and social justice warriors over his agreement with Boris Johnson on the problems with the burka and niqab.

One of the bits of interesting fall-out from Boris Johnson’s profoundly reasonable comments on the issue of Islamic female face coverings is this story from Worcestershire. According to one of the local newspapers for the Worcestershire area, The Kidderminster Shuttle, (ht ROP), Ken Pollock a Conservative Party councillor, is being targeted by Social Justice Warriors, local Muslim whiners and the Liberal Democrat Party, for speaking up in favour of Mr Johnson’s comments.

The Kidderminster Shuttle reported that when Mr Johnson made his by now infamous comment about Burkas and Niqabs looking like post boxes, comments that appear to have garnered overwhelming support from the public, Mr Pollock stated in the context of Mr Johnson’s comment, ‘I’m Spartacus’. This was a reference to the famous swords and sandals epic film about Spartacus. the leader of a slave rebellion against the Roman Empire.

Mr Pollock’s support for Mr Johnson has caused a massive whine fest from Worcestershire’s Muslims (who are attempting to build a massive and seemingly unwanted megamosque in the city of Worcester). He also seems to have upset local Social Justice Warriors and the egregious political opportunists in the Liberal Democratic Party.

Here’s part of the Kidderminster Shuttle article on Mr Pollock and the triggered ones. As is usual policy for this blog the original text from the Shuttle is in italics whereas this blogger’s comments will be in plain text.

The Kidderminster Shuttle said:

WYRE Forest politicians have urged council bosses in Worcestershire to take severe action against a senior councillor who backed Boris Johnson’s controversial comments about burqas on Twitter.

They are not that controversial really, not it seems among the general public. They are however controversial among the Islamopanderers, Establishment political types, permanently offended Muslims and the Left. Such people are not the majority, even though they may be quite loud at times.

Councillor Ken Pollock sparked fury when he repeated comments made by the former Foreign Secretary stating women who wore the niqab looked like “letter boxes” before adding “bank robbers would find the burka a good disguise”.

He initially posted on Friday (August 10) using the “I Am Spartacus” line from the classic Kirk Douglas movie as an act of solidarity with Mr Johnson.

Ken Pollock in my opinion has done nothing wrong here. All he’s done is agree with Mr Johnson that a highly misogynist garment, one that should have no place in our society and which is a hindrance to integration, is deeply unpleasant. I feel the same way about these particular Islamic garments as I would about someone choosing to wear a Nazi uniform because they agree with Nazi ideology. That is that it represents a particular political threat to me, my family and my nation. If Mr Ken Pollock is ‘Spartacus’ then so am I.

It didn’t take long before the whiners, both Muslim and Leftist, started crawling out of the woodwork and complaining. Mr Pollock is facing an enquiry, sorry I mean Kangaroo court convened by Worcestershire County Council following a sole complaint probably put in by some triggered snowflake or Muslim grievance monger.

The Kidderminster Shuttle added:

His comments were also branded “racist” by Wyre Forest Muslim Liberal Democrat councillor Shazu Miah while Wyre Forest Labour’s Stephen Brown said his comments were “disgraceful”.

They and their parties would say that wouldn’t they. Cllr Miah because public Muslims will often say do almost anything to stop Islam being criticised, even when the criticism is being aimed at an aspect of Islam that many people, both Muslim and non-Muslim would agree is linked to theological misogyny. The Labour bod’s comments are par for the course from a member of a political party that never seems to miss an opportunity to engage in political fellatio with Islam and its adherents.

When contacted by The Shuttle, Councillor Pollock said it would be inappropriate to comment further but during his Twitter exchanges, he strongly refuted accusations of racism.

Cllr Pollock is correct. Criticism of the ideology of Islam is not racism, never has been and never will be. There is no identifiable gene, as there is for skin colour and other aspects of human appearance, that is linked to Islam. Islam is a learned behaviour.

He said he had concerns about cultural pressures placed on Muslim women and defended the right to free speech and to make jokes.

Cllr Pollock is right again. There are cultural pressures put on Muslim women to wear this misogynistic uniform and he is correct when he says that we should defend both freedom of speech and the right to make jokes, even jokes that some people may find highly offensive.

But Councillor Miah said: “I am disappointed by Boris Johnson’s and Councillor Pollock’s comments.

Let me translate Cllr Miah’s comment for you all. What he really means is that there are now two politicians, one national and one local, who have decided that they should on this issue cease to be obsequious towards Islam. I say that Cllr Miah can take his disappointment and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.

I and members of the Muslim community here in Wyre Forest consider this to be a racist attack.

Now I don’t normally swear in the articles I write but Cllr Miah’s claim that he and the local Muslims consider Cllr Pollock’s comments as a ‘racist attack’ needs to be rebutted with the phrase ‘Oh do fuck off’. Firstly, Islam is not a damned race and secondly who does Cllr Miah think he is that can come out with something so patently untrue and yet expect the rest of us to believe it? An attack, according to the primary definition as given by the Cambridge Dictionary is a physical action that is intended to hurt using violence. This word can be used in terms of describing a political dispute for example but in this case Cllr Miah appears to be wanting readers to think of the comments of Mr Johnson and Cllr Pollock as being equivalent to someone getting punched in the face because of their race. This is plainly not the case and there is something of the ‘taqiyya artist’ about Cllr Miah and his comments.

The Kidderminster Shuttle reported that Cllr Miah continued:

The comments are divisive and serve only to give ammunition to Islamophobes. I have received reports of racist name calling and spitting since Boris Johnson’s comments and Councillor Pollock has added fuel to these racists.

Has it ever occurred to Cllr Miah that the primary cause of Islamophobia is not Boris Johnson or Cllr Ken Pollock but instead the content of Islamic theology and the behaviour of too many of the world’s Muslims? Surely the massive amount of murderous Islamic terrorism that the world is suffering from, the backwardness of much of Islamic culture and the appalling phenomenon, present not just in the UK but in other countries as well, of the Islamic Rape Gangs? There is no need for ‘Islamophobes’ to invent or talk up Islamic problems to cause dislike of Islam, Islam and its followers do a bloody good job of doing that themselves. The reason for name calling and other expressions of disgust towards some Muslims is not the work of ‘Islamophobes’ but of Islam itself.

I say it again, Cllr Pollock doesn’t seem to have done much wrong here but he’s being targeted and will probably be hung out to dry by the social justice warriors, whining Muslims and political opportunists that are circling round him at present. Because Cllr Pollock doesn’t seem to have done much that can be genuinely said to be bad he should be supported. I don’t think that he should apologise as that will only be exploited by his political enemies. I hope Cllr Pollock stands his ground on this issue, although I agree that it might be difficult, as some of his council colleagues may press him to apologise in order to give themselves a quieter life away from the mobs of SJW’s and angry Muslims.

What we have here is a Councillor making a very reasonable comment about an equally reasonable comment by Mr Johnson and becoming a target of those who lets be frank don’t have the best interests of the rest of us at heart. Cllr Pollock should be commended not criticised for his action as if he is taking flak both from those Muslims who are offended by everything and ashamed of nothing but also by those who would appease this ideology called Islam, then he must be right over the target.

Not too many years ago, the Town, Police Clauses Act stated that it was an Offence for anyone to be on the Streets of Britain with the face masked. This Law still exists with the Mask provision removed, probably by a Labour Government. One wonders Why?
