There’s an interesting and worrying article being carried on the Politicalite website at the moment concerning the lockdown in Bolton. It appears that pubs have been forced to shut under Coronavirus rules yet there are claims that mosques are being allowed to stay open.

PUBS in Bolton were forced to throw out patrons as the Government announced a local lockdown in the Northern town, but locals are angry that the areas twenty mosques are allowed to stay open.

One angry local wrote on social media: “Absolutely crazy Bolton goes in lockdown once again.”

“Why do people go to supermarkets and no track & trace or social distancing.”

The Bolton man blamed the Government’s Eat Out To Help Out scheme for the rise in cases.

It seems that the local council have been all too quick to blame drinkers in pubs for the rise in Covid cases, not deaths or hospitalisations mind you, just ‘cases’, yet are failing, possibly due to political correctness reasons, to look at or enforce rules on those communities where this problem may be coming from. It is claimed by locals that nothing is being done to stop hundreds of people gathering in mosques yet the blame for the rise in Covid cases is being blamed on politically softer targets like pubs and those restaurants that took part in the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme.

Politicalite added:

Other residents blamed the towns many Mosques for the outbreak and asked why the Government failed to close those establishments.

The towns many Muslim Ghettos have failed to follow social distancing rules with packed families living under one roof.

“Please can I ask why Religious groups/meetings are exempt from the rules? So god and Allah are going to stop you getting Covid? I really don’t think it works like that!” one wrote on Facebook.

“Lockdown should apply to all if you’re going to do it!”

“I can’t go for a walk with my mum outside in the fresh air keeping our distance but 100’s can meet to pray!” added the angry local.

Personally I tend to agree with this local. Either the rules apply to all or they should be unceremoniously dumped in the rubbish bin. This sort of politically correct enforcement should stop as its not going to end very well if it carries on. I’m Jewish and because of the extreme covid laws I’ve not set foot in a synagogue since early February. My child has been denied access to his Jewish Sunday school and in an almost unprecedented move High Holy Days services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur have been cancelled or moved online. My family has been denied an active fulfilling Jewish life by both the virus and the government’s heavy handed and inconsistent response to it.

The vast majority of my community, apart from a few in the Haredi community, has followed the rules because of the Jewish commandment to preserve life and health. This willingness to follow the rules when faced with a health threat seems to be missing among the Muslims who sources in East London have told me have expressed a fatalistic view of disease based around the concept of ‘Allah’ choosing a person’s moment of death.

It’s a massive slap in the face for Britons of all races and peaceful religions to find the pubs, clubs, churches, temples and synagogues shuttered but the mosques along with Britain’s borders, open as usual.
