A European Union cock up of monstrous proportions covered up by lies.

I know it will upset the anti vaccination crazies over on various internet forums and platforms who want to ‘Make Polio and Measles Great Again’, but the only sure fire way out of the covid problem is by way of vaccination. We can’t afford to lockdown our countries or our economies for much longer and we cannot just give up and let covid rip. This is why I’m so heartened by Britain’s success at vaccination. The earlier we can get to full vaccine coverage or as near as possible to full vaccine coverage, the quicker Britain can open up. There will be massive advantages for the nations that get their economies opened up the earliest and I want that economy to be that of the UK.

At one point, when the case fatality rate was thought to be lower than it has turned out to be, I and others believed that naturally acquired herd immunity might have been the least destructive way to go. However, as time has gone on case fatality rates have climbed much higher than the 0.03% claimed by those who don’t want to see how bad things are and range from 0.7% for Israel at present via the UK’s 2.9% (but falling) to the truly horrendous situation in Yemen which has a case fatality rate of 26.3%.

The only and I mean ONLY way out of this nightmare is by vaccination. Like many others I hate the masks and the closed shops and pubs and the restrictions on travel along with the fact that I can’t go to synagogue and my Christian neighbour can’t go to Church. But in order to reopen everything we need to have as many people vaccinated as possible.

I’m not in favour of mandatory vaccines per se, unless it is for specific purposes such as enrolling a child in a state school (because there might be immunocompromised children there) or traveling to country with particularly nasty tropical diseases, but unless people stop listening to the anti vaccination crazies, the dire need for herd immunity to be achieved by vaccination will push governments to mandate covid vaccinations. Faced with a choice between impinging on the rights of a citizen or subject or seeing their economies turn to ashes, governments WILL turn to mandatory vaccination in order to get economies running again. So go and get your damned covid vaccination voluntarily if you are medically able to do so, before the government forces you to have one. Don’t listen to the anti vaccination crazies, after all they are the ones who think that things like Diphtheria, or Measles or Polio are no biggie and nothing to worry about. Do you really really want to listen to people who are that stupid? I don’t.

Britain has done astonishingly well with vaccinations. Millions of vaccines have been given some first dose and some second dose as well. You can see from the chart below that I got from this Twitter feed how well we are doing when compared with the EU. The vaccine rollout has vindicated those of us who believed that Britain could and would be more flexible outside the EU than within it.

Britain is leading the way on helping to reduce covid to something much more manageable than it is and maybe putting it on the same level as seasonal flu, which still kills people but not as much as covid is doing. However the European Union’s response to Britain’s vaccine triumph is to lie about Britain, saying that we are being obstructive to the EU when the main failure point has been the EU’s management of vaccine procurement and roll out. This is what the President of the EU has said:

What a complete load of steaming rotting BS that comment is. It is a damned sprint.  The longer covid is a problem the more people will die and the more damage will be done to EU economies.  The only way the EU is leading on this is by leading EU nations to disaster.

The EU have failed and failed badly and people will die because of that failure. The EU is not a ‘major ally’ in the war against covid, at best they are a stumbling block to success because of the EU’s massive and unwieldy bureaucracy and at worst they are a fifth column, a sort of medical Lord Haw Haw, telling EU citizens that everything is well when it really is not. Charles Michel the EU community president sits in his bunker telling the citizens and subjects of EU nations that the EU is doing everything it can to solve the covid crisis whilst failing to do the one thing that could make a difference which is rapid and widespread vaccination. Maybe someone should remind Mr Michel what happened to the last European leader who hid in a bunker and made pronouncements about how great everything was going to be and that eventually that his side would win. If you know your history then you will be aware that it did not work out all that well for him did it? The EU president is lying. The EU is doing really badly with vaccinations as can be seen from the above chart. EU vaccine procurement and distribution is truly appalling. How bad do things have to be in the EU when even the EU’s economic powerhouse, Germany, is vaccinating so few of its citizens?

What we are seeing is the EU failing and failing big time. In the past, during the Cold War the EU didn’t really have to manage something like defence as the Americans did that, the EU nations could basically ponce off the Americans when it came to defending Western Europe. However now, with the EU facing a crisis and a threat and where they cannot rely on the Americans to bail them out, the EU fails. The EU has failed to live up to its own ideals of cooperation and harmony and worst of all it has failed the citizens of Europe.

Seeing just how monstrous a cock up that has been made by the EU to the response to covid, makes me even more glad than I was previously about the decision Britons made to leave the EU. If we’d stayed in then the EU’s vaccine disaster would be Britain’s vaccine disaster as well.

I still have sympathy for those who have reservations about the various Covid vaccines. I can understand how sensible people can be cautious about vaccines that have been developed in such a short time and has had no long term testing. I don’t think that those people will cause a problem as the majority of people are having the vaccine. It is also an issue that the threat of this virus, although very real and serious, has been hugely exaggerated by recording all kinds of deaths as having been caused by it. I suspect that the masks and lockdowns have done more harm than good. The answer to that question will only really be known in fifty or a hundred years time when it is possible to weigh up all of the facts without any kind of political agenda.

I agree there is still some sympathy from me as well. The problem is most of those with residual worries about the virus don’t know how to track back along the timeline of research. It is these people who are in need of shorthand and short form information about vaccines and vaccine safety in plain language who are being influenced by the anti vax types. Unlike some I don’t want to see the anti vax cultists censored but I would like to see more effort put into countering them with facts. The problem is that doctors giving the facts is not being accepted by parents who have been scared by anti vaxxers, a better course of action might be to have a public information campaign featuring parents of kids at risk of infection from unvaccinated children such as children who are in chemotherapy, children who have had transplants or those who have immune conditions. An immediate and relatable parent to parent moment might be better than an authority figure talking down or seemingly talking down to parents. I had no hesitation about getting my little one vaccinated, but then I’ve seen the effects of Polio and Whooping Cough and have encountered a man sterilised by mumps.

The problem with judging seriousness is that the government has not helped its own cause by sticking the ‘deaths within 28 days of a covid infection’ and banning post mortems. Whether this has inflated death rates is difficult to say but I believe that it has contributed to a lack of trust in government figures. Not sure about the masks but I believe that the lockdowns whether justified or not has caused a lot of deaths.

The problem with the government putting out information to counter the anti vaxers is that the authorities have lied so consistently about just about everything. The consequence is that nobody trusts them or believes a single word that they say. The mainstream media are just as bad, especially the BBC. So it would seem that the bloggers are the only people that could do it.

I completely agree there. Things like the Iraq War, the cover up of the Islamic Rape Gangs and ongoing and historical cock ups by the NHS that have never really been fully investigated or even in some cases properly uncovered, have all contributed to distrust. This is why I believe that a parent to parent campaign would be better. After all those parents suspicious of vaccines may be less likely to listen to a doctor but may be much more likely to listen to the parent of an immunocompromised child or a child who is at risk of preventable diseases because they have had organ transplants or they are receiving chemotherapy.

  3. As Stonyground says above, the stream of lies, half-truths, evasions and cover-ups form our despicable and corrupt government – shares or board members in medical companies anyone? – has made everyone deeply suspicious of these injections. Most are not vaccines in the traditional sense, which increases the public’s reluctance.
Edward Jenner first demonstrated his cowpox-derived smallpox vaccine in 1796. It was approved in 1840. Many consider the haste with which these experimental formulae have been approved, with zero liability clauses to protect the manufacturers and government – you know the chaps with shares, etc. – is very suspicious and so are happy to wait a few months to see if there will be any long-term detrimental effects. There are now many reports of adverse reactions worldwide, some of which are undoubtedly false accounts from anti-vaxers. But there are too many to be able to dismiss all the reports.
I am being cautious, continuing to stay separate and safe as much as possible, boosting my D3 & Zn levels etc.
