Film Review: What is a Woman.

I’ve been wanting to watch this film ever since it came out. Finally I’ve been passed a copy and it was much better than I could ever have imagined. As a person with an interest in the rise of the Cult of Trans and who has some personal dogs in the fight against it as a parent, as a man who wants to protect women and who supports the rights of LBG people, I wanted to hear what the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh had to say on the matter.

I expected that what we would have seen would be Matt Walsh making his points to supporters of the Cult of Trans in his own very well known quiet but combative manner. However what we got was something much better. Mr Walsh’s appearances on screen were quite deadpan, there was little or no presentational histrionics, instead what we got was a classic example of an interviewer giving their subjects enough rope to hang themselves with.

Mr Walsh’s questions to the promoters of the cult of trans were reasonably phrased and this allowed the trans cult promoters to open up about their beliefs and thereby condemn themselves out of their own mouths. This interview technique allowed the interviewees to show themselves as being individuals who have become so captured by an ideology that they believed that it was essential to mutilate and medicalise children in order to get a child’s body to match that child’s delusion. One thought that occurred whilst watching this grisly procession of trans-ideology captured surgeons and other medical professionals was this: What happened to ‘first do no harm’?

One very moving section of the movie concerned a Female to Male transsexual who explained to Mr Walsh how transitioning had caused her a multitude of problems including regular infections requiring antibiotic medication and surgery to create a neo-penis that had left her with large scars on her arm. Transitioning, as the movie points out and is something that I was previously aware of, is a surgery that has an astonishing number of adverse side effects and involves medications that can cause cancer and heart disease. It is in my view unacceptable and immoral for the promoters of the Cult of Trans to promote this type of treatment, a treatment that is not always successful for adults, to confused or distressed children.

Some of the pro-trans activists and medics seemed unable or unwilling to use what the majority would consider as the dictionary definition of the word ‘woman’ which is: ‘Adult human female’. These pro-transers instead floundered around in a sea of relativism and circular arguments as if recognising undisputable biological facts was as painful or unwelcome to them as would garlic be to a vampire.

One very interesting part of the movie and a part that in my view was executed very well was a montage of comments from science-light pro-trans guff spouters interspersed with comments from a medical professional, who we saw earlier in the movie detailing the medical errors of the trans cultists. This editing technique did allow the viewer to look from one position to the other and see just how extreme and how divorced from reality those promoting the cult of trans and transitioning children really are.

This film is well worth watching. It may, if you are part of the gender critical movement, tell you stuff that you already know, but it may also help people outside of that political current who have bought into the positive propaganda in the media about trans, understand how extreme and dangerous this ideology is to children, to women and to Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals. Children, many of whom are going through relatively normal pubertal and pre-pubertal struggles are having their minds and bodies mutilated by surgery and drugs. Gender clinics are also ‘transing away the gay’ when it comes to teenagers, who might not have parents who would be supportive of a gay or bi teenager, as most children who show gender non-conforming behaviour come out of this phase and end up as well adjusted and happy LGB individuals. Gender ideology is an intrinsically homophobic one and that is something that we can clearly see from the increasing number of physical and other attacks by trans activists on LGB people who refuse to join up with or genuflect before the gender cult.

Even if you do not like Matt Walsh or are suspicious of his conservative, Roman Catholic point of view I would still urge you to give this film a go. You might end up surprised or even angry about what the cult of gender has been shown to be up to.

  1. I watched it last weekend, highly recommended. I especially liked the part where he was asking the gender studies to define a woman without using that word.

That was good that bit. I also liked the bit where the gender ideology promoter refused to continue with the interview as they were completely stumped

  2. Yes, I haven’t watched the film yet, but thanks for recommendation. I do come from a viewpoint though that if a few people are trans why is that my business to challenge them?

As the film makes clear, confused and troubled kids are being rushed onto hormone treatments and surgery. That is what needs challenging.

Agree there. The issue here is not with the tiny number of adults over the age of 25 who transition because there’s no other option to clear their distress and who know the shortcomings and risks of the transition treatments, which are many, but with those who are grooming children into seeing themselves as being in need of irreversible surgery and medications.
