Whilst the political hell hounds who lead Britain are fixated on what they refer to as the threat from the ‘far right’ the reality of where the main terrorist threats come from are not from that sector or even Irish Republicanism but from Islamism. Islamism is the primary threat as a post on Samizdata points out with 97 out of 100 terrorist deaths of Britons being the work of Islamists. It should be noted that this list only contains data about those murdered or attacked by Islamists in the UK it doesn’t contain the data for Britons killed by Islamism who were murdered outside of the UK.
The threat of the ‘far right’ and indeed Irish Republicanism is miniscule in comparison to the threat posed by Islamism. As someone who has marched against the real far right I know that there’s so few of them that they’d be hard pushed to hold a convention in a phone box whereas the majority of the 40+ thousand extremists who the British authorities are monitoring are Islamist aligned. I agree with Natalie Solent the author of this excellent piece on Samizdata that we should honour those Muslims who have stood with us against Islamic terror and who’ve paid the price for doing so but it’s clear that the main threat we face comes from radical Islam.

No doubt some vicious leftist twunt would state that as so few were killed, is proof that Islam is “mostly peaceful”, just le that “mostly peaceful” bollocks from the politically and culturally captured selectively enforcing censorious Plods.
I refuse to use that weasel word “Islamist”, used as a smokescreen for a violent, racist, misogynistic death cult reflected in its little book of death and every pronouncement by its psychopathic perverted monster of a “prophet” and that tells its followers that he was “the finest of men” and that followers should strive in all ways to emulated that “perfect of men” with their mothers milk and every time they pray, which starts off cursing the “unbelievers” and of course the Joooozzz.

I’m with you on this one. Islamist/Islamic is a false dichotomy. The “Islamists” are simply orthodox Muslims who believe in the Islamic canon (Koran, plus Ahadith and Sirat – collectively the Sunnah, which informTafseer – also vital).
That is not to say that all Muslims are orthodox. Even setting aside groups such as the Ismailis and Ahmediyya, there are plenty of “cultural” Muslims.
But it is to say that “Islamists” or orthodox Muslims are entirely Muslim / Islamic in their beliefs, attitudes and practices. In fact they are the ones most supported within the Islamic canon and thus (with a measure of reason) regard all others as either Munifiqoon (hypocrites – “Pick ‘n’ mix” Muslims) or Murtadoon (apostates).
I use the term “orthodox Muslims /Islam” because it is accurate and also lacks the exculpatory undertones of “Islamist”.
