The shocking and horrifying case of Henry Nowak is back in the news this week with the late Mr Nowak’s family speaking to TV reporters for their first in depth interview. Watching this video horrifies me, it horrifies me not just for what Mr Nowak went through at the hands of his assailant and the police’s callous dismissal of Mr Nowak’s cries that he had been stab bed but also for how the police acted after the murder. The police kept the Nowak family completely in the dark about some of the details of this case, such as how the Hampshire police officers on the scene handled Mr Nowak and only came clean about police behaviour when it was clear that this behaviour was going to be discussed in the trial of Mr Nowak’s assailant.
The Nowak family believe that if there had not been a trial then the police would have said absolutely nothing to them about the circumstances of Mr Nowak’s death. I agree with the family here, if the police could have got away with not saying something that would have put the police in a very very bad light then they would have hidden much of the detail surrounding Mr Nowak’s death. If the assailant had given a guilty plea then it’s likely that none of the police’s misbehaviour surrounding their handling of this case would have come to light.
It also appears that the Nowak family are getting no joy out of police complaints procedure either. The independent police complaints service has failed to call for any action to be taken against the officers. In other words those officers who denied that Mr Nowak had been stabbed whilst they fawned over the fake racism complaints of the assailant are going to get away scot free.
This poor poor family. They have their son taken from them because of an outbreak of vibrant diversity and then have to face the growing realisation that the police, the one agency that they should be able to rely upon, lies to their faces. I have zero faith that any public inquiry into the Nowak Case will bring about any changes into the conduct of our increasingly bent, politicised and cruel police.
Yet again we in Britain clearly do not sufficiently hate those who run and staff Britain’s public services.
Here’s a link to the video. I’ve pasted a downloaded copy of this at the bottom of this piece just in case it disappears from view due to UK government censorship.
