A lone Nun does what the Metropolitan Police failed to do.

A brave Christian nun did what the highly trained and paid officers of the Metropolitan Police failed to do, and removed a Jihad flag from the gates of a housing estate in Poplar, East London.

The London Evening Standard newspaper said:

“A nun has taken down a black flag similar to those flown by jihadist fighters in Iraq and Syria after it was spotted flying at the gates of an east London housing estate.

The controversial flag sparked outrage after it was pictured flying above the Will Crooks estate in Tower Hamlets, alongside a number of Palestinian flags and slogans in support of Gaza.

But when council officers went to the site, in Poplar High Street, they were told the flag had been removed by Sister Christine Frost, a Roman Catholic nun who runs a charity supporting vulnerable residents in the area.

A spokesman said: “The council can confirm that following reports this morning of a flag erected on the Will Crooks Estate, council officials took steps to remove it but found it had already been taken down by Sister Christine Frost, a well-known local activist and promoter of community cohesion.

“The flag was removed following concerns that it could cause community tension.”

Sister Christine is believed to have gone on a day-trip to Clacton-on-Sea today after taking the flag down overnight.”

This incident should give people some idea of just how far the Metropolitan Police have fallen.  That a Nun, armed only with her faith and sense of justice should do what the Met Pol have failed to do, is an indication of how worthless and politically compromised the Metropolitan Police have become.

The best part was what you have sadly left out of this blog post. The Guardian article continues:

“When a passerby tried to take a picture of the flag on a phone, one of the gang asked him if he was Jewish. The passerby replied: “Would it make a difference?” The youth said: “Yes, it fucking would.” Asked if the flag was an Isis flag, one local man said: “It is just the flag of Allah.” But another man asked: “So what if it is?”

One local man said that the flag has been there for several days. “People were taking photos of it last night,” he said. A Metropolitan police spokesman said on Thursday that they had received no complaints about offensive flags in the Tower Hamlets area. The Dutch government has banned the public display of the Isis flag, but it is not illegal in the UK.”

So there you have it. Hate on naked display, and the police doing nothing about it. Does that mean they don’t have the legal tools? You can bet not – when a Kilburn theatre bans participation in a Film Festival by the Israeli government, on the grounds that it would be “controversial”, when the Times refuses a tell-it-like-it-is advert on the grounds that “it might upset many readers”, nothing happens. It’s all about “protect the sensitivities of the Muslims”, and hate starts to rear its head all over again. 100 years since the first world war, 75 years since the second, have we learned nothing?
